I would not expect a Paul-hater to have the subtly of thought required to understand that this is a comment about morality not an endorsement for more entitlement programs.

I would expect an aPaulogist to cherry pick the wrong sentence to mislead a valid point. "We need to change our interventionist foreign policy, and take care of our brothers and sisters at home." I believe this is the statement that made Double Tap imply Paul's socialist intentions.

You libertoonians want smaller government. How does this statement by Paul fit that role model?

Dr Paul has always been very clear about his support for private sector assistance to those who need it. Churches and private citizens took care of this role until government usurped it. Theres nothing in his remark that indicates that he endorses government as the provider of this support. Please point me to something in his record or writings where he advocates increase government action in this area. You can’t because it doesn’t exist. No sane person who took more than 30 minutes honestly investigating Dr. Paul’s political philosophy would make the accusations you make.

I'll let bcsco's answer stand as my own answer, re post #86.

You don't have to be subtle to understand RP is pandering.
