Could not agree more. It's amazing to cellphoneless me that "normal" people go through some sort of transformation when speaking into a cell phone. Suddenly they think the person on the other end of the line is deaf so they have to yell. If they're driving they feel the need to drop their speed by at least 20% so they can concentrate on the call.
Worst of all is "push to talk." With that you get to hear both sides of the conversation. I was in the grocery the other day and a Mom was having a push to talk conversation with her daughter. And they were discussing stuff that should not be shared with the world. Disgusting.
That’s one of the worst cases, hearing both sides of a conversation that should be private in nature. I find myself walking away because I feel like I am the one intruding on their privacy!
I’ve heard people bring up the fact that while many people are against the Bush administration’s surveillance tactics regarding phone conversations, people in our country also carry on private conversations in public for all the world to hear! If we could just catch an alQaeda guy in a mall on a cell phone, we’d be all set!
