>>>>>Romney and Rudy are far more conservative than McNasty

Since you're a liberal, I can understand why you feel that way. In my book, they all suck.

"If these so called Republican voters want McCain then they will in short order have either Clinton or Obama as president.”

Since McNasty is an economic illiterate, a member of the green brotherhood, an advocate of class envy, a despiser of business, a supporter of cafe standards that are destroying our auto industry, a supporter of big government at every level, I don't see how his domestic policies would be any different than either Her Thighness or Mr. Crypto Muslim. So a Juan de McNasty presidency would be almost identical to both of them.

ROMNEYCARE!

Ok, I can ALMOST give you that one. But, if you look deeper into Romneycare, it is not as bad as it seems. Certainly not as bad as Hitlerycare or whatever socialist scheme Obamination has in store for us. I don't know the ins and outs of Romneycare, but I do know that it is privatized to an extent. Don't you think McCain will come up with a socialized medicine scheme? Bush did. It is coming, no matter whom we elect. A semi-privatized solution is better than an out-and-out social medical program, no matter how you look at it.

I am supporting Romney because after the SC primary, I realized that Fred is done. I had to face reality. After the debates, I was so impressed with Mitt that I had to do some research to see if he would be a good fallback. I came to the conclusion that he was.

Whether its McCain, Romney, Rooty or the Huckster, they will all apply moderate or liberal solutions to the issues of big government. None of them are conservatives in the true sense. Both Rooty and Myth are full-fledged, life long liberals. The difference is, Rooty hasn’t ran from his liberal past, the way Romney has. LOL

My dad said that you become a fool by arguing with one. So latter days not a Reagan man.

McCain consistently delivers on the independent vote. Whether you like McCain or hate him, that is the reality, so the headline makes no sense.

The title DOES make sense. The only reason McCain does well against Hillary is that even the Dems dislike many things about Hillary, and so many of them would choose McCain to Hillary. With McCain they have many of the Dem positions without Hillary. A win of McCain is still a train wreck for the conservatives.

RomneyCare is nationalized health care insurance and the first step towards socialized medicine. It’s mandated, subsidized and controlled by the government. Forcing people to purchase a service against their will is called tyranny. Subsidizing the premiums for those who can't afford it is called socialism. No thanks.

Here's my nightmare scenario:

I fear McCain's age and cancer. I predict that McCain won't survive one term in the White House if he wins, which is why his VP pick would be so important. Now, if McCain were to pick somebody like Fred Thompson as his running mate in order to boost his appeal to Conservatives, then I would have the same fear about Thompson's age and cancer.

So. McCain/Thompson wins, McCain dies in office and Thompson becomes President. Then, a Democrat Congress stalls on confirming Thompson's VP nomination until Thompson also succumbs to the rigors of the job, and then Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi ascends to the Presidency.

That's the nightmare, but I doubt that McCain would choose Thompson with the way that Lindsey Graham has been shadowing McCain.

I was talking to around 5 guys at a cigar bar this week. These are not FR folks but are conservatives (all former military).

4 out of 5 said they would never vote for McCain even if he is the nominee. Basic gist: better to have a Dem in the WH that we can work against than McCain.

I’m a Fred supporter but I am switching to Mitt in the primary.

Hunter’s gone. Thompson has no traction. Mitt is the furthest right of those that are left. I know that many here have problems with him, but he is the best choice of those who are standing. There is no Ronald Reagan out there. I think we have to rally around Romney.”

........I feel sick.
It ain’t lookin’ too good, is it?

The way I see it, either the Dems will put a liberal in the White House....or the Repubs will. Either way, we’re getting another lib.

Probably true, but I will not support McCain.
He is not a conservative nor is he a Republican.
McCain is RINO.

No. Mitt is a hard-line socialist. McCain's a corrupt back-stabber, but still to the right of Mitt. I wouldn't vote for either.

There is no point supporting a man who will do everything in his power to destroy the conservative movement and to blame us for his shortcomings.

That you for that, I totally agree.

You are suggesting that Hillary thinks on her feet, which she doesn’t.

And you are suggesting that there is no answer to your distortions and Romney can’t think on his feet, which is ridiculous.

On FNS today, both Brit and Juan made the point that McCain is not liked by conservatives. Only Bill Kristol, who supported McCain against GWB in 2000, said that McCain has a chance to bring all of the factions in the Republican Party together behind him. He could not be more wrong!

Technically that would be correct. McCain does have a chance. A snowball's chance in hell.
