And what did clinton actually do to create or grow that economy?

The slowdown at the end of the GHWB administration was already ending when clinton came in (even though the media was barely reporting it). IMHO, the Republican takeover of Congress did much more for the economy than clinton ever did. The internet bubble would have happened regardless of who was in office.
