No...they don’t have any latent guilt over what they did during Vietnam.
You get them off the record they are PROUD of what they did.
The hit pieces about McCain if he becomes the nominee will be about his “temper” and whether he’s level headed enough to lead....they will talk about his time in the Hanoi Hilton and then ponder whether it will “cloud his ability to deal evenly and rationally with countries that are less than friendly to the U.S.”
The DBM doesn’t worry about hypocrisy because they have no conscience and no shame.
And anyone who doesn’t understand this about the American Media is in for a rather rude awakening.
The key term is "off the record", hence, my "hypocrisy" charge.
Matthews, Russert and many others refer to McCain as a hero. They can't and won't attack him personally.
Wait and see.
The DBM doesnt worry about hypocrisy because they have no conscience and no shame.

True, but they acknowledge that others do have a conscience and moral compass and take glee in pointing out any moral failing of a conservative. It reminds me of the phrase: “no, but I stayed in a Holiday Inn once” how quick they are to jump on any conservative moral frailty.
