Both were pushy.

I actually felt a little sorry for those kids on the bikes, though, because adults were making them believe they had to do this.

If no one has ever been exposed to these religions in a negative way then I guess we do come across as bigots even though I, personally, don’t want to come across that way.

I never said and never would say, don’t vote for Romney because he is a Mormon. I’m just saying I can’t get past that negative image that I use to have of those kids and when I see Romney in his white shirt, those images re-emerge and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

I guess there’s a bit of Missouri in me, because I will not believe Huck and McManiac are out until I see it, the latter in particular.

All that may be true but we can still kick their ass whenever we want and that’s what we do best here.

I have primarily tried to ignore him. He was ugly to MNJ, and I don’t want him to be ugly to you or others here.

That’s true, but to get the Republican nomination one still has to get past the Conservatives that still have a lot of say so in the party. My prediction is that neither one will get past us. (or tougher yet Rush)

Thanks. That's what I thought.

10+ years ago I was chosen for a Nielson rating. I entered in the diary that I watched Fox News channel almost 24/7. I can't be the only one not putting the truth in those little diaries....... ;o)

You are not. We all did it. Problem is FNC is still cable channel and believe it or not, not aired everywhere.

I am quite dispirited today... haven’t even read the thread.

Can’t believe so many Republicans voted for McCain and Huckabee.

Guess Fred will stay in ... hope so ... but the rest of the country doesn’t seem to see him as many of us do.

My fallback position is Mitt Romney.

I’ll try to muster up the psychic energy to read the thread later.

I have an entirely different feeling about the biker lads. It warms my heart that young men would put their lives on hold for the sake of their religion. Rare, indeed, in our country.

I know exactly how you feel/think. The problem is that we at here at FR are at a very different info level than many of the other voters who basically don't know crap.

The word has to get out, we are back to Rush and the rest of the New Media. It's about getting the truth out.

My experience with Mormon missionaries was quite different from yours. Two young men parked their bikes and came to the front door and when I answered they introduced themselves. I said I was Roman Catholic but invited them inside for a chat and offered them a snack which they declined. They were very intelligent and personable, not pushy, and when thy left they gave me the Book of Mormon which I still have. I am still Catholic, and they are probably still Mormon. I thought at the time that I admired the young men and their culture of service and also I hoped that my children would be treated well by strangers they encountered. I have had similar experiences of JW missionaries stopping by and leaving their pamphlets and they do not persist once I tell them I already have a faith I follow. I believe that early service training and discipline has not been wasted whatever the religious beliefs that motivates it.

I have had a Fred sticker on my truck since mid-summer. I have given more money to him than I have for any other candidate ever. I have a Fred yard sign. I have a Fred baseball hat I wear all of the time (have for months).

After yesterday, I'm ready to give up on Fred winning.

Romney is the only other candidate I could support at this time. I will not vote for McCain. I cannot forgive him for all that he has done against the base. I will not vote for Huckabee, period. I could (barely) hold my nose and vote for Giuliani.

I resent being put in this position......

Romney has publically stated that he believes that Jesus Christ was and is the Son of God. That makes him a Christian. So where’s the beef?

Romney has magnetized himself for skepticism. The strongest pull is when he uses the words "I believe."

Don’t beat yourself up over it. SC is an open primary, which means non-Repubicans voted. Wait for the closed primaries.

It used to be athttp://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/02/delegate.explainer/index.html but CNN appears to have a problem with that page today.
