What the hell happened to Town Hall?
A supposedly conservative site arguing against giving us back some of our own money. Nice. Real nice.
I'm starting to look forward to the shellacking the Republican Party takes in the fall.

If you haven't noticed, people here are arguing against it as well. And it's not the giving back of money we object to, it's that it won't do any good. It's a pointless effort.

Actually, I think that they are partially right. The rebate is a good, very short term, stimulus. A tax cut takes a little longer to have an effect, but does work better for the long haul.
Probably there will be a mix of both.

A supposedly conservative site arguing against giving us back some of our own money. Nice. Real nice. You miss the point. This is like giving a kid $10.00 for the movies. It will do nothing to incent small business to invest more for growth. Or incent people like me to work harder to earn more since the more I work, the more the government CONFISCATES from me. I am fed up working for the government. My work is my time. My time is my life. It's a limited quantity. Therefore, the government is confiscating part of my life.
Think it through.
This silly rebate is a joke. It's an insult to anyone with half a brain.
Cut the friggin spending and taxes.

They’ll just make up for the rebate by increasing taxes in other areas, it’s all just a shell game.
This is “bribing us with our own money.”

A supposedly conservative site arguing against giving us back some of our own money.Nothing wrong with giving us back our money, but don't expect it to help the economy.
