One thing to realize is that McCain pulled in far fewer votes in So. Carolina this time. He got 42% of the vote in the 2000 So. Carolina primary and only 33% in this primary. I think this is a pretty telling statistic.

I don’t think Romney can win. The daily kos folks urged their members to vote for Romney in Michigan and Florida because he is the most vulnerable to them.

Also something not being mentioned here is there is a lot of anti-Mormon bias in the south. A lot of evangelicals have been taught that Mormonism is a cult and won’t vote for Mitt. He would go down in flames in the general. Sorry to say but it’s true.
