He isn't open to it and has said so previously. I would bet dollars to doughnuts that he will endorse Thompson, if Fred has decided to remain in the race, or will not offer an endorsement at all.

Besides, since Duncan is retiring, his son, Duncan Duane Hunter, is running in San Diego as a Republican in his Dad's district.

Hunter should spend the next 4 years doing the political talk shows, maybe write a book and a weekly column. Start getting a team in place for 2012. Start a low impact grassroots campaign right away. If Obama wins for the Dems he’ll be the same as Carter was in 76. He touches all the right spots but there’s really nothing there.That sets him up to be the most ineffective presidents in history. I think by 2012 should the Dems still have the congress and the WH, there will be enough fallout to elect a conservative, and possibly put the major working parts of the Reagan coalition back together.
