Leading Democrats To Bill Clinton: Pipe Down By Jonathan Alter NEWSWEEK Updated: 1:43 PM ET Jan 19, 2008
Prominent Democrats are upset with the aggressive role that Bill Clinton is playing in the 2008 campaign, a role they believe is inappropriate for a former president and the titular head of the Democratic Party. In recent weeks, Sen. Edward Kennedy and Rep. Rahm Emanuel, both currently neutral in the Democratic contest, have told their old friend heatedly on the phone that he needs to change his tone and stop attacking Sen. Barack Obama, according to two sources familiar with the conversations who asked for anonymity because of their sensitive nature. Clinton, Kennedy and Emanuel all declined to comment.
On balance, aides to both Bill and Hillary still see Bill as a huge net plus in fund-raising, attracting large crowds and providing a megaphone to raise doubts about Obamaeven if some of those doubts are distortions. But there's concern that in hatcheting the Illinois senator and losing his temper with the news media (last week he thrashed a San Francisco TV reporter for asking about a lawsuit filed by Clinton-backing teachers union members to limit the number of Nevada caucuses), Clinton is drawing down his political capital and harming his role as a global statesman. "This is excruciating," says a member of the Clintons' circle, who asked for anonymity. "But the stakes couldn't be higher. It's worth it to tarnish himself a bit now to win the presidency."
During a December taping with PBS's Charlie Rose, a frustrated Clinton called Obama "a roll of the dice," as aides tried to end the interview.

Finally! Democrats telling BJ what we have wanted him to do for years.
Suggested bumper sticker: “If you want the Perjured Pervert back in the White House, vote for Hillary!”
Dear Blacks.....just notice how the Clintonoids are keeping down your MAN!! That’s what they do...they USE you for their power....>WAKE UP!
that depends on the meaning of the word “id”...
“Titular head? Id there a joke in there somewhere?”

“But the stakes couldn’t be higher. It’s worth it to tarnish himself a bit now...”
BWahahaha...”tarnish himself a bit now.” LOL.
Can’t make this stuff up.
It was a whore house when Bill occupied it.
those bags under his eyes are big enough to pack his underwear for a big trip.
Yeah guys, keep it up and people might start voting for Obama out of pure spite!
Bill looks terrible!
When Super Tuesday is said and done, it may come down to a 50-50 split between Hillary and Obama...That will put her in a real bind because if Hillary steals it from Obama, especially if Wm J meddles, she is going to lose huge numbers of voters, both African-American and Hispanic who may sit out Nov ‘08...If she picks Richardson over Obama she may ppick up some Hispanic votes but she will lose more of the black vote..On top of her 50 % begative rating already, she will have huge risk and very little reward, no matter what her strategy is..From Then til the election she will have to repair the wounds in her own party which will prevent her from focusing on issues....what goes around comes around...
There WILL be a payday, someday, for these two. Bill looks like he’s already getting his bad karma. His wickedness is apparent, especially in his face.
I still say Bill doesn’t want Hill to win. He is trying to sabotage her campaign, without being too obvious and getting an ash tray lobbed in his direction.
No one can tell Bill what to do? Hilldabeast can and does so it has been reported.
While the conservatives seem fractured right now with the serious decision of selecting out candidate, if Hillar is in fact the candidate for the leftwingers then I think the conservatives will pull together to make sure she doesn’t get the WH. I am not decided yet on who I’ll support in the primary in CA but I will vote and it won’t be for Hillary or Obama..
