(Ok, I'll sneak in a few posts here and there and try to stay out of trouble.)

I worked on a campaign in 76, and while I don’t know who Reagan voted for, I cannot remember him out campaigning for Ford. Similar to now with Fred, the party establishment didn’t treat Reagan to nicely.
