SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --A former Holyoke police officer has been sentenced to 12 to 15 years in prison for shooting her estranged wife's boyfriend. Tammy Walker pleaded guilty to numerous charges, including armed assault in a dwelling. Her attorney had requested a two to three year prison sentence. Walker was a former sergeant who'd been fired before the shooting after numerous problems on the job. Prosecutors said in December 2006, she took a gun and 43 rounds of ammunition into the Chicopee home of 52-year-old Rochester Johnson, who was seeing Walker's estranged wife, Kathleen Donoghue. The gun went off in a struggle, passing through Walker's hip into Johnson's abdomen. Johnson survived, but said in a court statement that he suffered extreme anxiety from the attack.

Call me old-fashioned but that phrase twisted my head like a pretzel.

So this was a gay marriage I take it?
From the story it would appear to be an un-gay gay marriage.
I'm looking for a picture of the "spouse"
Me too.
I’m surpised they didn’t go full pc and say “her estranged spouse’s significant other”
“Oh Rochester...get your Johnson in here!”
Roger that.
Not her first day in court:

It looks to me that Johnson should be happy that his johnson is still intact.
According to another article, Ms. Walker had nine siblings show up in court to support her.

Definitely a penis envy story!
The homo lobby tries to convince the rest of us that homos make great examples of loving kindness. What I’ve observed is that many of their ilk are hateful and seriously deranged. A few years ago in the city I was living in there was a murder case where the victim, a night manager in a motel restaurant, failed to return home after closing and was found dead with over 100 stab wounds. The ME told the person delivering the body to the morgue that he expected that the killer was a homo who hated his mother and women in general. They caught the killer, a dishwasher, and what the ME said proved to be true.

According to Donoghue’s affidavit, Walker was “here to kill the both of us.” Johnson was shot while struggling for the weapon with Walker, and Walker suffered a gunshot wound to her left hip, police said.
Walker was fired from the police force in 2005 by Holyoke Mayor Michael J. Sullivan.
Her lawyer, David Hoose, has said that the trauma Walker, of Holyoke, went through at the Holyoke Police Department caused her mental health to suffer.
Walker had filed a federal suit in U.S. District Court, Springfield, against the city of Holyoke claiming discrimination. On Nov. 30 Judge Michael A. Ponsor in effect decided in favor of the city and against Walker.
Ponsor granted the city’s motion for summary judgment, which is judgment in its favor before trial, on all counts but one, and he dismissed the remaining one.
The case involved a number of discrimination, hostile work environment, and retaliation claims brought by Walker, who is black and a lesbian, Ponsor wrote in his decision.

Mayor Michael Sullivan says while he is pleased that the city won the suit, he feels for Walker had who “difficult life experiences.”
Walker’s legal troubles are not over. She is awaiting to be sentenced on January 18 on charges of armed assault in a dwelling and other crimes in connection with the

Walker was a strong and proud woman, but when she began to have problems in the Holyoke Police Department and lost her job, she lost a big part of her identity, Hoose said.
Ditto. I had to read the paragraph a couple of times. I thought that the reporter clown had mad a typical mistake.
Rather than the headline “Ex-officer...” why not “Current lesbian...”?
My opinion: a big part of her identity WAS missing.
