People can rationalize all they want but I can't help but view low turnouts at Republican conventions as an ominous sign.

Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions. First, a lot of folks might be waiting for the weather to improve later in the day before voting. Second, the turnout may be held down by the fact that many voters don't really have a preferred candidate and thus won't go out in bad weather to vote in the primary. But many of these same voters would definitely come out come November, regardless of weather, to vote for the GOP nominee against his Stalinist-'Rat opponent.

BTW, this is a primary election, not a "convention."
