Interesting statistic:

A little over 400,000 people voted in the Republican SC primary in 2008.

560,000 voted in the Republican SC primary in 2000.

It could have been the weather, but over 160,000 Republicans sat out today.

It may also mean that these 160,000, those still living, are for HRC!

Independents and democrats voted in the republican primary in 2000 — the democratic contest was essentially over by then.

McCain took 43% of that vote, and will only take 33% now.

The population of South Carolina has grown 10% 2000 to 2007.

Based on population, what caused the vote in the South Carolina Republican primary to be down 35% ?
