Woud it raise your suspicions if McCain put Fred in a cabinet position or even selected him as his running mate? Don’t you think Fred’s involvement in the race probably helped McCain by splitting up the social conservative vote? Who exactly had the most to gain? I’ll give you a hint: it’s someone old and decrepit and turd-crazy with a penchant for saying the phrase “my friends”.

The comparison doesn’t hold, commish. As much as I hate to say it, Huckabee is actually a contender. He could have possibly stolen McCain’s thunder. Fred, not so much. I never got the impression he was even trying very hard... and he was always uncomfortably cozy with McCain. Mark my words. Fred will endorse McCain.
