It always amazes me how the supporters of a candidate tend to be more hostile to the opposition than the candidates themselves. For example, Fred Thompson will, I have no doubt, endorse McCain if he loses. Yet his supporters here swear that they will NEVER vote for John McCain. I can only hope that if this goes the way I think it will and Thompson endorses McCain, Thompson’s people will listen.

There’s not a Republican on this earth that I wouldn’t vote for if they were matched against Hillary. If the nominee of the Republican party had horns and a tail I’d at least consider him over her majesty. People seem to be disappointed in this field of candidates, but as group they aren’t bad. No one candidate on the Republican is great, but none, except for possibly Huckabee is a disaster.

I looked at all the candidates and chose McCain (a big switch from 2000 by the way), but I could see voting for Thompson, Romney, or Giuliani. Ron Paul, ah, does have horns and a tail, or so I am told.

Anyway, we need to win this election, more than we need to be right about our personal preference.

You are correct.

But then that says MORE about the supporters than the candidates now doesn’t it?

Yep!

And THAT is my whole point.

Fred IS who Fred IS.

It’s just that the Fredheads don’t wanna ADMIT it.
