There are two points here that you don’t get:

First, I believe his wife wants him to be president more than he does. Or at the very least, demonstrates more enthusiasm for it.

Second, if the constitution is a ‘dead document’ then it can never be amended. Since it has been amended 27 times, it can be changed, and therefore isn’t truly dead. The point behind amending the constitution is to eliminate the ever changing interpretation that is being implemented by activist judges. (ooooh, conservatism)

Watch tonight’s interview on Hannity and Colmes, and you’ll hear the same thing.

I am sory, when it comes to the Constitution, I trust Justice Antonin Scalia more than I do you. “The Constitution is a dead document,” Scalia said. “It is an enduring document that does not change, or at least does not change at the whim of the Supreme Court, but rather it changes as provided in its text as amendments are adopted.”

The constitution is a piece of paper, it doesn’t change it’s mind, it dosen’t rethink itself or self evaluate, reconsider itself, we, our ancestors wrote it and agreed to it’s precepts, and if you know history and the constitution we may change it by a 2/3’s vote of the states, and did you know that we can call for a constitutional congress of the people and rewrite the entire document if we choose to do so.

It is an idea in which we aspire to uphold, and fall short.
It is a dream of what could be, and we have the right and power to change that dream if we wish.

The constitution means what it means and nothing more, it is the black robed interprators who have placed thier personal views of the world on the document and led us astray.

So please don’t tell me that the constitution is a living and breathing document as the libs would have you in your ingorance believe so that they can control you!
