Florida, Texas and California Anyone see a common theme here?
You got it.
If your state doesn't have a lot of electoral votes (like those three), you are probably safe.

Are these folks using some medication that has effects like Dilaudid? No idea, all I did was post the article.
Although apparently that makes me a Key Player in someone's Conspiracy theory.
Imagine how viciously I'd be attacked if I actually knew someone who had it!

I came back from our honeymoon in Barbadoes with a rash and itchy foot. Not too bad during the day with my mind on other things but at night it was nuts - felt like bugs were crawling under my skin. Even the rash was in squiggly lines like a worm trail or something.
I finally went to the doc and said it felt like bugs crawling under my skin. He took a look and said “That’s ‘cuz they are!” Luckily he had been a medic in Vietnam and instantly knew it was hookworm. He then asked if it was okay for him to round up the rest of his staff to show them. “They’ll probably never get a chance to see this again!”
Turns out the dog poops in the sand, tourist walks through the sand, hookworm tunnels in to tourist. Usually only seen in third-world countries (which nowadays probably includes parts of Florida, Texas and California).
A few weeks of rubbing a hookworm treatment on my foot killed it.

Tactile hallucinations are common in a variety of disorders, and "bugs crawling under the skin" is the most common description of such hallucinations.

Then shouldn’t it also be in any state with a meat packing plant, any border state, and anywhere there’s a Home Depot?

I would
begin each assessment of these cases with a test for methamphetamine. Those symptoms are
classic meth abuse side-effects.
If they're clean, most of them at least, and these symptoms still exist, then there may be something to it.

Naaaahhhh,
First you set yourself up as one of ‘the anointed ones’, then you deny the existence of anything they didn’t teach you in medical school.
If you’re really lucky you can recruit a secret army of ham-fisted electronics technicians who want to practice medicine over the internet to blast anyone who ever quotes someone else saying anything that would imply that your medical knowledge is lacking...
