Jan. 16, 2008 - Fred08.com: The Republican campaign for President remains wide-open. Our party faithful are still looking for someone who meets all the qualifications they seek: A true consistent conservative with the experience to keep the country safe. Second, Mike Huckabees campaign to be John McCains Vice President has hit a snag. He has gone from the mid-thirties in Iowa to 11% in New Hampshire and now about 15% in Michigan. On higher taxes and looser immigration, Huckabee has been done his best these past few weeks to mimic McCain. But this is nothing new. In fact, while John McCain was leading the Senate charge to grant amnesty for illegal immigrants, Mike Huckabee was one of the loudest cheerleaders. And at the same time McCain was voting against the Bush tax cuts, Huckabee was in Arkansas increasing taxes some 21 times. As for Mitt Romney, he has been all over the map on virtually every issue important to conservative voters. For the South Carolina primary, look for Romney, McCain and Huckabee to face serious questions about their commitment to consistent conservative principles. Their records are in stark contrast to Fred Thompson, who remains the one true steadfast conservative in this race. The bottom line is Republicans are looking for the clear conservative choice.

Thanks Jellybean. PRayers for FRed and for SC hearts and minds to be tuned into his message. The MSM/Fox news has written him off. I hope they hear his message even though SC won’t hear/see it in the old/usual sources.

Fred was on Laura Ingraham’s show this morning and it was great.

I hope Rush is right and there is an unreported ground swell for Fred. He needs to get ahead of McQueeg.

Fred on the Bus is a remarkably uplifting article. They should post that one on fred08.com.

I am sorry to have to pose this question but looking at the latest polls, pose it I must;
If Fred does poorly in SC tomorrow and has to drop out, regardless of who he endorses, of the top three left in, who is helped the most? My personal decision would be for Mitt as I view him as (currently) more conservative than Huckaliar, and he hasn’t spent his political career pi**ing on the base ala Juan “lettuce boy” McCain.
Thoughts anyone?

With one day left till the actual vote, I don’t see why we can’t wait to indulge in this kind of defeatist speculation.

Fred Thompson on How to Deal With Earmarks and Activist Judges
At a rally in Clemson, S.C.:
You know the ax handle that old Buford [Pusser] used to carry? I got me one of them. I knew Buford Pusser. His daughter gave me one of those ax handles and I still got it. I thought about it many, many times. There's a lot you can do with that.
I don't care what anyone says. I love Fred Thompson. h/t : HotAir

That was a good article...back in July of 07.
It was Fred’s race to lose, back then.
To: Grunthor
Why would he drop out? Would he have run out of money? Does the country run out of Conservatives after SC?
