In a world where the best politician is the man (or woman) that can lie the most effectively, and raise the most money, it is hard to find a candidate that will represent the truth. I, Fred Thompson, am not looking to confuse the citizens of the United States, but to protect them by securing her borders and taking an iron fist to terrorism. I am not looking to lie to Americans, but to protect the morals and values that they hold dear. Never changing my views, I have remained consistently conservative, and I will continue to hold steadfast to my conservatism in the White House. I am more than an impressive resume. Holding positions such as U.S. senator and residing on the National Security Panel has taught me that honesty and integrity are essential assets to a leader.
The United States was built by immigrants; unfortunately the flood of illegal aliens into our country has become a security issue. A tough immigration reform plan that is common-sense and law-abiding is the best way to deal with this issue. Lady Liberty yearns to welcome immigrants who are willing to abide by the rules of this country, speak English and obtain citizenship. Other Republican candidates refused to enforce immigration laws when they were in office and supported the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill, which leads to amnesty for all. Amnesty should not be a reward to those that have broken the law by illegally residing in our country.
People once came to America to experience The American Dream. Now they must work harder to earn enough money to support themselves, their family and their dream. Hard work should not be punished by raising taxes. I have been notorious for tax cuts and proposing the elimination of frivolous government spending. Keeping our taxes low, we can increase our prosperity and economic growth as a nation. I was fighting for tax cuts in Congress, while others were opposing tax-cuts in New York, and imposing hidden taxes on unsuspecting citizens. If elected, I will honor my pledge to bring lower taxes to the people of America and reform government spending on unnecessary federal programs.
I support the life of an unborn child. I am a social conservative that believes the Roe v. Wade case needs to be overturned, and abortion made illegal. My consistency in this issue earned me the support of the National Right to Life Committee. I do support the ongoing research with adult stem cells, but I strongly oppose cloning and embryonic stem cell research. I have been, and always will be, for the sanctity of a human life.
The other candidates in the race for the presidency are constantly changing their beliefs and ideas, while my views have not changed since my first political position. I am not running for president for glory and fame, but to exercise leadership in a country that needs a consistent leader in this period of terrorist threat.
Yes.... good points.
Fred backers are the best at making their points.
That is because we are right. Take pride in that, it helps in blowing off the Gnats around here...
Aside from the grammar problems in this piece, there's the use of "I, Fred Thompson," in a medium where Google is the shortcut to learning. It's not a good idea to be putting words into someone else's mouth.
