NOTE: Hillary is still ahead of Obama among those of 852 Super Delegates who have already endorsed. They are free to choose whom they wish, regardless of voting in their state's primary.
2008 Weekly Delegate Distribution and Availability
Democratic jurisdictions are listed in chronological order according to their First Determining Step.
Republican jurisdictions are listed in chronological order according to the first Major Delegate Selection event.
The cumulative delegate counts reflect the total number of delegates assigned to the states whose process has begun.
The delegate selection information is only intended to be a rough guide to the chronological accumulation of delegate pledges. Please review the individual state's page for more detailed information as to EXACTLY how/when delegates are being pledged to candidates.
The table below treats each week throughout the Presidential Nominating Process as ending on a Tuesday, since most Primaries (as is the case with the General Election in November) are scheduled for a Tuesday. The first week of the Primary/Caucus "season" is considered to have ended on the Tuesday immediately following (if not on the actual date) of the first "delegate selection event" of the Primary/Caucus "season"; this Primary/Caucus "season" is, as has been traditional, considered to be ending with the first Tuesday after the first Monday in June, with all delegates still available after that date grouped together without specific reference to the week in which they are potentially being distributed amongst presidential contenders.
