Wonder if these “intellectuals” would have had the same misgivings about a muslim leader visiting their campus.

Actually, there is nothing to wonder about as far as that’s concerned, surely they would welcome such a person with open arms.

Another irony in this case is that the physics professors claimed that Cardinal Ratzinger in a talk he gave in, I think, 1990, agreed with a quote he cited of some agnostic/atheist regarding the Galileo affair. Of course, that was inaccurate. Very much like the quote of an emperor from his Regensburg speech that was taken completely out of context.

The speech he would have given make them look like the typical leftist idiots they are. One more irony is that this university was founded by Pope Boniface VIII in 1303.
