This exposes McCain's lie when he claims that he only opposed tax cuts because they were not accompanied by spending cuts. He is a class warfare liberal no different than Hillary or Huckabee.

If Fred beats McCain and Huckabee in SC, then a knockout blow is delivered to both McCain and Huckabee (otherwise, we are stuck with a RINO in November). It is up to SC.

“McCain said: “I think the lowest 10% should get the breaks. …”

The lowest 10% of earners don’t PAY any income taxes. They’ve already gotten a “break”.

Everybody should have to pay some income taxes so they have a vested interest in seeing taxes reduced and government spending kept low.

The way things are, close to 50% of Americans pay so little that it’s not a concern to them.

If people earn less than a given amount of money, they shouldn’t need to file a tax return, except to get their tax rebate from withholding.

However, it would be interesting to see, with let’s say a $100 million tax break “solely for the poor”, if it was given *solely* by exempting those at the bottom end of the tax scale, *how much more* they could earn than they do now, and still not pay taxes.

That is, say the limit is $10,000 for an individual. If you earn less than that, you pay no taxes. With a $100m tax break, how much more could you earn? $10,100? $10,200?

And remember, that this would *save* the government money, by not having to process the tax forms of those people who made below the limit.

It would be interesting to know exactly how much benefit could be achieved with a tax cut “solely for the poor”.

No wonder that independents and liberals like John McCain. He sounds just like a Democrat.
