Huckabee: Anybody with IQ above Broccoli, knows I am a Conservative

Charleston, SC-

Last night at the Citadel, the historic southern military school located here in Charleston, GOP presidential aspirant Mike Huckabee positioned himself in defense battle mode, warning the crowd of 400 supporters about the barrage of attacks from his enemy entities, like the Club for Growth, that are questioning his conservative credentials. Huckabee defended his record.

“Folks, I don’t know what you are going to hear, about that I’m not a conservative, but when you cut taxes, and you increase the per capita income, you improved the schools, and you rebuild the roads, and you preserve the national resources, and you streamline government, your government grows at a rate that is half that of the average of all states,” Huckabee said, his voice rising. “Call it anything you want to, but anybody with an I.Q. above broccoli calls that conservative, rock-solid, kind of leadership.”

Huckabee is a conservative.

In a very narrow band he is a conservative.

He is pro-life and pro religion.

That's great

but it is not enough.

Many local level Democrats are pro-life and religious.
When they strive for national office that, changes.

A liberal Republican isn't going anywhere without some high-profile credential.

Huckabee has a credential.

“National numbers? Great move up by Romney!”

Yes, he did get a bump, but not as much as I would suspect it should be. I think he got a bump in S.C. also. He is slightly ahead of Thompson.

Tommorrow’s daily will be more telling. That should be when the full impact of his MI win will show in the national polls.

At the very great risk of being flamed.....I wonder who will benefit the most from a Thompson withdrawel if he places 4th in S.C. where he drew a “line in the sand.”

Call me broccoli, then.

I like to be steamed, with a little salt and butter on the side, please.

Huckabee continues to display his prowess in alienating any voter with an IQ above broccoli.

<>Rintense: Anybody who fries squirrel in a popcorn popper has an IQ lower than broccoli. Drat, ya beat me to it.

There's got to be a picture somewhere of Huckabee wearing bib overalls.

You'll get a kick out of this! It's even better than a picture. LOL

Yeah, Huck. It really helps to insult people who could possibly vote for you. Sounds like a 6th grader.

I understand why taxes had to be raised and roads built.

Oh, puh-leeze. If building roads was a high priority, the way to pay for it is to cut spending on lower priorities.

What is the rub here on FR is that many define "conservative" differently

While we're on the subject, what are your "different" definitions of a few other words (specifically, "alone", "sex", and "is")?

YES! Another soothing voice of reason in a cacaphony of chaos.

According to the political spectrum that can be discerrned at the VoteMatch site that I made links to, there can be no reasonable doubt that the contest is between a flock of rabid frothing mouthed moonbats, maybe a lone donkey, a herd of ephelants, and a lone "moderate" that is actually a MINO, i.e., "moderate in name only" in that they are bonafide Libertarian.

That, IMHO, takes skill and political accumen to be so economically conservative and socially liberal to end up being Libertarian. In fact its such a genius kind of skill, and wholly unpragmatic (not to mention unpractical), that it amounts to starry-eyed idealism with dreams of pie-in-the-sky Utopia.

Sure he is. And I don't even think its a narrow band of conservatism that he ascribes to.

You can either approach this contest qualitatively and subjectively, which is what the liberal MSM wants you to do. Or you can quntify objectively the candidates by comparing/contrasting their posititions issue by issue.

Pick one that really strikes home concerning an issue that REALLY matters to you and vote for that candidate. IF there's a couple candidates that seem to be pretty matched, then of course you have to ascertain which one has the best temperment; that's important.

Finally, if they both seem to be evenly matched on the issues (as far as one sees fit to be THE important ones), then one needs to ascertain which one of the two candidates is actually strapping it on for size. Because THAT'S important. In my short 45 years on this planet I've come to find out that it never bodes well to lay allegiance with one who's strapping it on for size.

There it is in a nutshell: politcal primer by RayGun.

The soft-on-crime Christian liberal goes about it the “easy sucker” way Huckabee did

Heh, I like it :-) A pastor I know does evangelical work in the prison systems. We had a conversation about that not long ago. He said that he has to be very, very wary about that. Thre are those that will take advantage kindness, in a heart beat. He said the ones that are truly saved though, make it all worth while.

I think The Huck has Billzo beat every way from Sunday on the "selling blood" sort of deal.

Interesting that so many of The Huck's detractors don't want to talk about it anymore ~ which makes me suspect they are mostly (not entirely, but mostly) Clintonista sympathizers.

When you said "What a champion for Christianity Huckabee is. It’s embarassing." you most certainly did question The Huck's "Christianity".

BTW, all I did was toss a term we usually hear only from the Anglicans and Catholics at you ~ but it applies to an element of church service common to all Christian communes.

You were not able to respond correctly which pretty much identified you as a non-Christian. Being a non-Christian and unable to handle the terms found in the largest single Christian commune on Earth (2 bill and browing, eh!), I think I successfully identified your lack of credentials to state that anything The Huck has said or done regarding religion is "embarrassing".

All of which means I disagree with you.

I believe I mentioned that I wasn’t sure raising taxes was the way to have done it. I’m almost in shock that Huckabee is among the top three contenders. I have major guilt that I didn’t do more to educate young Americans to resist this type of pandering, populist, divisive ignorance. I’m also sorry their education in the sciences left them so bereft of facts that they buy into Global Warming. I hope there is some way to make up the deficits before it is too late for them.

Its sad and concerning that the Huckster has been able to pull the wool over the eyes of so many.....

The sheeple don’t do their homework and he is counting on that.
