Former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson believes in our country and our laws. Thompson believes illegals are illegal, and should be sent home to apply to come into this country legally. Toleration of sanctuary cities must end. Companies hiring illegals should be heavily fined. And the fence between the United States and Mexico should be built immediately. As Thompson says, this is a matter of national security.
Thompson's views are in direct opposition to the bill which Sen. John McCain and Sen. Lindsey Graham, along with Sen. Ted Kennedy, tried to shove through the Senate -- and down the throats of Americans -- that would have given amnesty to the 12 million illegal immigrants in our country today. We tried amnesty before, and the problem has just mushroomed.
Sen. Thompson is also in direct opposition to former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who believes that children of illegal immigrants should be given scholarships to college, thus taking away places for our children's college education.
Illegal immigrants are financially draining our country's medical and educational systems. It's time to vote for someone who believes in our laws.

With the news today that construction starts down 25%, I imagine some of the illegals will start to pack up and go home.
I am finishing out my basement and landscaping the backyard this spring. I asked my architect to introduce me only to construction firms that could guarantee in writing that 100% of their employees were here legally. He laughed and said “Wow, that really narrows it down!”. The legal contractor I engaged said his business was booming. The prices quoted were reasonable and everyone I spoke with, including some folks that earned their citizenship after Reagan’s amnesty, all spoke fluent English, except one fellow from the Bronx who is a fourth generation American! I think he was speaking “yankee”.
I don’t think either McCain or Thompson would take the VP spot.
That’s why *uckabee is running as McCain’s shadow VP, and Romney is running as Thompson’s.
So my preference to yours would be more like Thompson/Romney.

Bull. Thompson was against McCain/Kennedy right from the start before he even became a candidate.
Look for Pawlenty, if he wants to pick up a blue state, or J.C. Watts or Mike Steele, if he wants to racially diversify the ticket (if Obama wins). Even Rudy would work to appeal to moderate voters and northerners (and we all know the VP doesn't do anything anyway).

HA HA HA HA HA ha......I knew that was coming! Maybe we can agree that a Mitt/Fred or Fred/Mitt ticket is still better than any of the other potpouri we might get if we mix in the other candidates that are less popular and less genuine about their conservatism.
Fred may have to pick Romney as his VP in order to have enough delegates to win the nomination at a brokered convention.
Unless you think, McCain, Giuliani, or *uckabee would be a better choice...

Can't drive them underground, let them out into the daylight.
Can't deport them, it is an impossibility
Best solution is to give them a "path to citizenship"
You can't blame the employers, it isn't their fault.
It is impossible to track workers because of fraudulent documents.
The fence is a stupid idea, but I guess we'll say we will give you one if it will shut you the hell up.

Fred is a "path to citizenship" guy. A poser, just like the rest of the flip-floppers.
I think Watts would be good if Hillary wins the nomination. I like Rudy as Fred VP. I don’t think McCain would be anyones VP either.
After the rancor of the campaign, I would be very surprised if the winner chose one of the others. He will choose from the rest of the GOP to find someone who best compliments him in the general election.

No, I just think Fred should not get a pass on immigration any more than the rest of the posers. He has definitely changed his position.
