Taiwan has been around much longer, yet we do not deem them worthy of independance?
I am also curious why the sudden shift from our government. Do we not sell weapons to Taiwan for the sole purpose of sticking it to China? The Chinese must have offered to buy more of our faulty mortgages to help stabilize the economy.
