This headline seems a little misleading. "Animal rights" is a loaded term normally associated with ALF terrorists, PETA-heads, and anti-human activists like the loathesome abortion advocate Peter Singer. Obama's stated positions fall well short of that. Author Nedra Pickler is one of AP's more notorious lefty propagandists. Is she an Obama symp trying to rally the animal rights whacko vote or a Hillarite trying to smear Obama as a kook?

Little Green Footballs has the goods on Pickler:

AP Shills for Invading Pakistan.

Note to AP: There isn't enough whitewash in the world.

Where Mainstream Media Stands (D.C. voter registration)

What about insect rights?

Can we also get recognition for cabbage rights? Carrots, too? And how about boiled collards?

I feel badly about all the bacterium killed at hospitals also.

Can we play a dirge for euglenas?

Too bad there wasn’t an informed person in the audience that could have asked Mr. Obama if he is happy with what is happening to all of the horses that can no longer be humanely slaughtered? Hmmmmmm?? Laws have consequences ... sometimes unintended ones.
