“Africa is a place with a culture that is very difficult for Westerners to understand.”

Yeah, good thing that the civilized Western World was thrown out of all of Africa. Now the barbarians can do what they want! If I were an American black, I’d be ashamed to call myself AFRICAN American. What a tortured, sad continent!

"Almost seems like he wants to give Christians a bad name."

No doubt that was his intent. This Christian basher is no better than the beast he describes. His actions lead to bloodshed and death just the same.

The story and photos would be funny if not for the truth behind them.

"But neither do I think it's the U.S.'s job to clean up Africa."

I do. Better us than leave it to Islam. They will take the evil they find there and enjoy, and add it to the evil they already enjoy.

One way or another, the time is going to come where Africa will have to be dealt with. How bloody and messy it will be depends on how long we let the cancer fester and grow.

Africa won't be cleaned by the US. We collectively do not have the will or the ruthlessness to do it. China on the other hand ....

True enough.

seems they already have their foot in the door.

I don't think the powers that be really want China to have free range to all the resources though.

One African-American did his journalistic “tour of duty” in Africa.
His major book theme is despite some failings, he’s glad his ancestors
left Africa and arrived in what became the USA...no matter how terrible
the passage.
And he tries to figure out how the economic “Tigers” of SE Asia
faced many of same situations as former colonies, but have become
economic powerhouses while Africa is mired in endless chaos.

This book should be REQUIRED reading for American high school students.
But I wouldn’t be suprised if it isn’t effectively banned as it
just doesn’t go along with academic liberal ideology.

They could eat rat hearts and modern medicine would grow new ones so there would be a never-ending supply of rat hearts for these magicians.

They are deadly quiet about what he “was” before his conversion to Christianity. That time of his life when he was killing...

I remember reading accounts of this guy back then, they were creepy good at kicking ass in the field, probably in a large part due to the terror factor involved.

Additionally, I’d bank on that acceptance of Christ as being genuine too. Note that he didn’t convert as part of some means of escaping or ameliorating justice, it was on his own a while back, and he came in to testify on his own and apparently in full knowledge of what he could have coming in the form of retribution for his crimes.

If he dies because of his testimony, which exposes the atrocities of his former comrades, he may well be redeemed.

The part that makes me unsure of his redemption is that he seems to assert the power of magic... thus making it a useful tool for terrorizing a future generation. If he means he used tricks, he should say so.

"'Any time we captured a town, I had to make a human sacrifice. They bring to me a living child that I slaughter and take the heart off to eat it.'

"He did not know how many people they killed, he said. 'But for what I did, it is not less than twenty thousands,' he added, breaking down in tears."

As far as I can understand, only Jesus Christ can provide the strength and redemption necessary to overcome such horror.

I know that if I had committed such an atrocity, or even witnessed it, I would not be able to overcome it by my own resources.

According to the Tebetan Book of the Dead, at the moment of death there is a sudden flash of brilliant light, and, if the dead can grasp this light and hold onto it, he can escape the samsara.

I think that this means that redemption is available. However, I cannot hope to find it--or to seize the brilliant light--trusting in my own resources, including strength--however, I think that anyone can who submits completely to the love of God as manifested in Jesus Christ.

Jesus loves all of us. Even those of us who commit such atrocities. I pray God have mercy on us all.

I agree, once a “manipulator” the behavior continues, just on the other side. If you are truly grieving, you don’t want to talk about it for quite a while.

I recall reading about these naked guys back when too and how ruthless they were. I hope that him speaking the truth will bring some learning lessons to all of us. Sounds like he has taken the “truth shall set you free” to heart - regardless of the testimony’s effect on his judgement in court.

On one hand I would like to see him continue sharing his dramatic change with others in the hopes that it can change others. On the other hand I would like to see him put to death for his terrible crimes.

Cyropaedia, do you recall what Clemenceau once said about war?

He said war was too important to be left to the generals. When he said that, 50 years ago, he might have been right. But today, war is too important to be left to politicians. They have neither the time, the training, nor the inclination for strategic thought. I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.
