Obviously what you say is true in the clinical sense of her job. It's not that this isn't stating the obvious reality of her job but at the same time someone that reads thew news should KEEP UP with the news. I don't care if it is understood that an anchor doesn't need to - I think it is imperative that the anchor goes in with a basic sense of the story they are going to cover live. I dare say (while throwing-up in my mouth) that Peter Jennings and Tom Brokaw and, yes, even Dan Rather would have relatively up to speed on the general story.
Also - whether you believe it or not - many people on this forum have not necessarily seen such an extensive collection of behing-the-scenes moments by a "biggie" anchor. It is illuminating on a variety of levels. So you found it boring and a waste of time - fine. Now could you prove how useless this whole excercise apparently was and ignore the thread, Sport?
