Mark Levin's opening monologue from last night's show.
Romney's the only one who can derail McCain there... makes sense for the time being.
I guess the only question I have at this point is... did anyone on this thread bother to listen to the case Mr. Levin made or do people feel qualified to remark on it in ignorance?
Why the ‘Chickenhawk’ argument is un-American
Excerpt:
Who is qualified to speak on matters of national security? According to the American left, only pacifists, military members who have served in combat and direct relatives of those slain in combat or in acts of terrorism. The rest of us — about 80 percent of voters — must simply sit by silently. Our opinions do not matter. You want disenfranchisement? Talk to the political left, which seeks to exclude the vast majority of the American populace from the national debate about foreign policy.
The bulk of the left in this country refuses to argue about foreign policy rationally, without resorting to ad hominem attack. The favored ad hominem attack of the left these days is “chickenhawk.” The argument goes something like this: If you believe in any of the wars America is currently fighting, you must join the military. If you do not, you must shut up. If, on the other hand, you believe that America should disengage from all foreign wars, you may feel free not to serve in the military.
Does anyone here know what promises were made to Massachusetts voters when Romney ran for governor? If so, did he deliver on those promises?
I’m more concerned about whether he was able to deliver on his promises. To me, that is a bigger issue than if he has changed his views to run for president. I’m more concerned whether he has the integrity to FOLLOW THROUGH or not.
You have a good point, but Meandog’s anger towards the way Hannity has been tearing down McCain is certainly legit, especially if Meandog himself is a vet.
Besides, Hannity tears down McCain for being a RINO, but when two good conservatives are in the race (Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson), rather than getting behind one of those guys, he goes in the tank with his man-crush for another RINO, Rudy Giuliani.
“Mark Levin is a chickenhawk just like his buddy Sean...IMO”
Speaking as one who has served my glorious Marine Corps and fought in combat, I find your remarks absolutely ridiculous. How can non service in the military disqualify you from debating National Security? Does that also mean that if you are not a woman, then you are disqualified taking a stance on abortion?
As to John McCain - he voted against permanently barring gang members and terrorists from the US, appears unstable, and reminds me of the Manchurian Candidate.
Whichever Republican is nominated, he can have all the integrity in the world, he can have never changed his views (which I would suspect is unreasonable — I know mine have evolved with knowledge) and purpose in his heart to follow through at all costs, but he may still wind up with bupkus. For the evangelicals among you, even our Lord had a tough sell with the Pharisees and Sadducees. He’d have had to drag them into the Kingdom clawing and kicking. Once there, they’d have wanted to turn around and go back.
I want someone with more foreign policy experience. I want someone with major business credentials. I want someone who isn’t crazy enough to call the Ambassador from the Middle East “Jerks”. I want someone who is able to walk his position through Congress. I see the only viable ticket (unfortunately Hunter can’t get traction) as Romney/Thompson. Thompson has got to get hold of the Congress and start making sense of the mess there. Nancy Pelosi needs more to do than change the items on the cafeteria menus.
You should be EVEN MORE CONCERNED on what McCain has already 'delivered' through CFR, his opposition to tax-cuts, amnesty legislation and pro-Kyoto rhetoric. I don't relish a Romney nomination... but I dread our future if it's McCainiac or Huckleberry.
McCain belongs to the radical left when it comes to immigration and he is a liberal on many other issues. The mystery is why are any Republicans even voting for him. And he has mental issues. I would like to know more why he and his son are not even talking to each other.
The only two choices are Romney and Thompson.
LEVIN DID NOT SAY HE SUPPORTS ROMNEY RIGHT NOW, HE SAID TO VOTE FOR HIM IN THE MICHIGAN PRIMARY TO STOP MCCAIN AND HUCKABEE. LISTEN TO THE DAMN THING.
That’s how my family views it too.
You are a brain-dead lib fool. McCain wants to give rights to terrorists. You don’t have to have served to know that is nuts.
The commenters so far are mostly those who drank their own kool aide long ago.
It's snowing and turnout may not be strong. Fred supporters may manage a surprising showing which would help him tremendously in SC on Saturday.
Fred didn’t campaign in Michigan. Why is that?
Thanks Sir. FANTASTIC, impassioned show last night. Thanks for your awesome work.
There are plenty of vets and active duty who oppose McCain. You jerk.
Thanks for clarifying, oh Great One...:) I, for one, appreciate accuracy.
And, I agree, whether one’s ultimate candidate is Romney or Thompson or Giuliani, MCCAIN MUST BE STOPPED.
