They don’t have as many legal rights in Gitmo. but the truth is German POWs were kept in the United States during WWII, and weren’t assigned ACLU lawyers.

Nazi saboteurs were indeed tried and executed in the US during world war II. They were not given civilian trials. All this happened on US soil, in the continental US.

The German prisoner’s status was not in doubt both German and the US were signatories to the document. Last I heard, Al Queda had not signed and each prisoner at Guantanamo has to have his status determined by a tribunal.

Additionally, in case you hadn’t noticed, in WWII there was a unity of purpose, e.g. generally the entire nation wanted to win a war against an enemy that it saw as threatening to their freedom and way of life. Fifty years later, we indiputably have enemies who want to use our legal system against us.

Liberals once again do not see the law of unintended consequences. You don’t want detainees that possibly have information about terrorist threats held in a place like Guantanamo? Then they will be executed on the battlefield as mandated by the Geneva Convention.

Here’s a few:

My son and I visited the ruins of one along the Appalachian trail this year in Pennsylvania. It was known as Camp Michaux and you can still see the graffiti left behind by the prisoners today.

They are NOT POWs, by any definition. They do not have the rights POWs have. They are no better than the murderers and saboteurs in the second world war. When they were caught, they were shot. No tears were shed, no cries of abuse. They should be tried by military tribunal the same as some german sabotuers were tried during WWII. If found guilty, they should be executed. No attorneys, no appeals. Close Gitmo when they are all either found guilty and executed, or not guilty and released.

they were kept in oklahoma too. And now they have reunions with their American captors:

former american guard: Hey, nice to see you again. remember when you made lampshades out of flesh and we caught you?

former german nazi (if there is one): Yeah. Hoo boy, I thought i was finished. Then you sent me to Fort Gruber to hang out the rest of the war. Beat sitting in Dresden. Hey let me buy you a beer, Yank.
