All that plays very well into the hands of the MSM, don’t you think? Which was my initial point exactly.
The MSM may even spin it as Rudy had to leave because there was a security threat-—you know, from those “anti-abortion extremists.”
I am all for protesting candidates-—but in a way and at a time that makes sense and is not likely to backfire. All this event might possibly do is feed stories that are sympathetic to the independent voters who only know the pro-life movement as a collection of kooks.
Since this is politics and the media, Rudy may in fact get more mileage out of having refused to engage the “kooks” (not my word, of course). Thus, instead of being some big victory for the pro-life movement, all it may end up doing is strengthening Rudy for another day.
I don’t believe I ever posted nor inferred this would be a “big victory for the pro-life movement”. There are always concerns that actions will be misrepresented.
But Giuliani stiffing the entire crowd is the real story here, IMO.
