This is going to help our side in the general election.
God willing!
It will only if our side pushes the issue. Headlines are already declaring that Iraq is "off the table" now, as an issue, as if wishing it away will work.
Instead of arguing the past, perhaps we should shift the conversation toward the possible future this positive outcome in Iraq could engender. Maybe it's time to talk about how a democratic, stable Iraq will work to the benefit of the US in the future. It could conceivably validate the domino theory in ways we never dreamed of. The other despots in the region will begin to have a great deal of trouble with their hold on power, as their populace begins to see that a better way is possible for them.
Also, as Iraqi oil shipments begin to ramp up, extreme pressure will be put on OPEC, and will have no small effect on world oil prices, IMHO. Our presence in Iraq gives us leverage against other agitators in the region, and may clear the way for an Israeli-Palestinian accommodation that could result in peace between them. Iran is severely weakened by an American victory in Iraq, and the Arab Street will soon have to take note. Here's betting a huge statue of George W. Bush will one day be erected in Baghdad.
Doubtful... the sheeple haven't a clue what the truth is anymore.
