Stop wasting your breath. Many hear will stay home and hand the WH TO THE LIBS TO TEACH THE PARTY A LESSON. NEVER MIND THE RAMIFICATIONS ON THE NATION AS A WHOLE, NEVER MIND THE POTENTIAL COAT TAIL EFFECT WHICH MAY HAND A FILIBUSTER PROOF MAJORITY TO THE CONGRESS.

If they don’t get their dream candidate then to hell with the rest of us, they’ll take their football and go home. Noe THAT will show us!!

DO NOT underestimate the Clinton Machine

I am most concerned about the Clinton Library and Foundation Funds.

We have no idea whatsoever how that money is being collected or spent. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts there are a lot of new "contracts" going out to black ministers, community groups in South Carolina, Nevada, etc. Also to rackets like Sharpton's. The foundations are set up in such a way that we'd have no way of discovering it.

The only hope would be if a sympathetic minister got word to the Obama campaign about what was going on. Wouldn't THAT be fun to watch?!

And never mind the fact that they seldom actually work for or contribute to their dream candidate(s) in the primaries.

And further, my daughter, who has a whole list of things a mile long that I did wrong as her mother, always tells me emphatically, the one thing I definitively did right.

For she LOVES her name!

Heh.

Her name, also a beloved name of her birth era, is...

TADA....MELISSA!

Since I was old enough to imagine such things I knew I would have a daughter named Melissa.

Now see, “Melissa” would probably not be in Rush’s top ten list of female names as this is not the era’s names he seems to prefer. MELISSA was a very popular name of my daughter’s era....ie the early 80’s.

I also like her daughter’s name although I had not a single thing to do with naming her. Her daughter’s name is KAITLYN MAE. THAT is a very popular female name of the era in which we are now in.

Which brings me back to BARACK and HUCKABEE...

Point being...WE WILL NEVER HAVE A PRESIDENT WITH EITHER OF THOSE NAMES.

We have some sensibilities out here in la-la land.

I have a feeling that Hillary loathes the military as much, if not more so, as her coward husband does and has put in writing.

Now Romney, on the other hand, wants the top prize and nothing less. You can tell by the way he acts— a ruthless, vicious campaigner willing to take out anyone in his way.

That's funny -- I come to the opposite conclusion and while I reject Romney all around, thoughts of his being vicious or unethical are pretty distant. The more I think about it, the more I think Romney is exactly the guy who'd be prone to go for VP slot. It suits his nature and his profession. Sadly, it doesn't suit MY idea of standing up for Limited Government Republicanism, but that's just me.

Probably so, but he and Susan were
surprisingly tough on HRC and almost
scathing in their disgust with Billy
Jeff’s tactics.

Todd said, if HRC had lost New Hampshire,
the media would’ve been pouncing on Bill
big time. Page thought it was extremely
inappropriate for a former president to be
getting into the gutter like this.

They ignore the fact that ... he is and
loves the gutter.

He and she single handedly have forever altered the level of political discourse and the personal morals and tactics of politicians in this country and brought them into THEIR comfort zone: the sewer.

Their scandalous behavior and tyranny has been melded into the public’s political consciousness and lingo, and added to the political malaise and cynicism that stems from the general assumption that politicians are the corrupt lowlifes they are;

i.e., blue dress
put some ice on that
I feel your pain
vast RWC
the meaning of is
I never had sex with that woman
Sandy Burglar
Jennifer
Paula
Juanita
Vince Foster
Fort Marcy Park
Whitewater
FBI files
Kathleen Willey
cattle futures
White House coffees
Lincoln bedroom
Ron Brown’s funeral
stones on a Normandy beach
Chinese money
Chinese technology transfer
Charlie Trie
presidential pardons
Marc Rich

The list goes on endlessly and ad nauseum of the disgusting impact they’ve had on our culture.

They succeeded in lowering the bar to their stinky depths, and the cork is out of the bottle ... I doubt we’ll ever return.

Kelly Wright leans left strongly.

Does he? That surprises me a little since I believe he is a graduate of ORU and records gospel music in his spare time, but I suppose that's not necessarily an indicator of one's political leanings.

“The idea is that there is only a limited amount of monetary value in the universe (there is some, although not complete, truth in that statement) it would keep the money supply the same and not affect inflation”

The idea of limited monetary value or wealth is correct and has been since Adam Smith’s time. But how is it limited? There isn’t enough wealth for all our WANTS. There is enough for everyone’s necessities in this country. People aren’t satisfied with that.

What isn’t said is that wealth and money are merely snapshots in time. What’s really important is the ability to create wealth through work. The more people who do this, the more wealth EVERYONE has, because people spend what they have or save it. If people spend their wealth, then someone else prospers. If they save it, then that money can be lent to other investors, which also leads to greater prosperity.

I’d like someone to explain basic economics to the candidates and to the American people. Thomas Sowell, we need you!

Actually, MNJ is right. McCain did call for more troops from the beginning, agreed. McCain was in the group who said we needed more troops on the ground from day one and that we could not defeat Iraq with too few. He was proven wrong on that, as were many others. This was one of the main arguments he had with Rumsfeld. McCain and numerous ex-officers did not like the reorganization of the military that was taking place and felt we had to use overwhelming power to win any conflict. McCain was not alone.

As for the surge, he may have supported it, I don’t remember if he specifically supported or opposed the surge so I would give him the benefit of the doubt until I know otherwise.

Really enjoyed political analyzer. Here are my results:

Your position in comparison with the candidates.
You have responded to 36 propositions. Based on the responses you provided, you are the closest to
Fred Thompson and you are the furthest away from Barack Obama
Fred Thompson
You are 16% economic right
You are 5% more progressive
You have a substantive agreement of 82%
Mike Huckabee
You are 19% economic right
You are 4% more traditional
You have a substantive agreement of 87%
Mitt Romney
You are 14% economic right
You are 10% more traditional
You have a substantive agreement of 77%

No one is as economically conservative as I am. I’m probably more socially conservative as well. but some of the questions were ambiguous Should creationism be taught in schools? — What do they mean? Genesis 1? Intelligent design expressed as a scientific, testable hypothesis? Should torture be used? — Do they mean waterboarding? I don’t consider that torture. I put neutral to both of those.
