The courts had NO JURISTICTION to overrule him. They even plainly stated so in the court release. Per MA constitution, which is ignored in MA, his was the only office that had authority over marriage law.

That was my take on the matter also.

Mr. Romney had the power to stop gay marriage and he chose not to do so.

The courts did not have the power to overrule the executive branch’s responsibility to decide the issue.

He caved, and we will be living with the consequences for a long time.
