I’ve learned that politicians are at least as prone as the rest of us to misspeaking and making intemperate verbal outbursts. I don’t believe anything they say unless I hear it from the candidate himself (not operatives) at least three times. Huckabee unfortunately speaks at an intellectually more sophisticated level than most Americans but apparently lacks much to say. Part of the problem occurs because Huckabee continues to develop positions on issues of national and global importance and still lacks an adequate understanding of international affairs. He yet can develop such an understanding with adequate speed though voracious reading and deep thought, but time is not on his side.

As an idiot-American, I cannot determine definitively what Huckabee meant with this “joke” or whether he intended what he meant or meant what he intended. This statement moreover clearly doesn’t indicate anything substantiative but rather apparently just critiques the style and mood of an intra-partisan competitor. It’s particularly difficult to dig through the fluff with Huckabee, but Republicans won with bloviator Warren Gamaliel Harding in 1920, so don’t blow off Huckabee yet.

He is simply saying that Fred is full of sh___. This is a pet saying of his, though he normally just calls the party constipated.
