I remember reading in a thread on this forum the other day about this. Someone was asking about NH’s election laws, and one of our Freepers who is a NH resident stated that you can easily change party registration at the polling place, then as soon as you vote in your new party’s primary, you can walk over and change your registration back. This person said that for a period of about 90 seconds that day, he was actually a Democrat. The clear implication was that he had changed to Democrat, voted for Hillary, and then changed back to Republican.

Maybe there’s something to this. If so, it’s magnificent.

The numbers are interesting. There is a clear bifurication in preference.

There were many locations that went for Obama in the percentages that were expected by the polls. Then there are many other locations that reversed the numbers and went for Hillary.

Hillary 2008 is probably closest to Kerry 2004 in appeal - especially to the Boston crowd. Obama 2008 is probably closest to Dean 2004 in appeal.

In Belknap county: 5 of 16
Of the 16 townships, there were 5 that stood out for Clinton. Belmont 43.7%, Laconia Ward 1 38.7%, Laconia Ward6 43.3 % and Laconia Ward 7 40.5%. The rest fell to Obama except for New Hampton which was low for both but slightly in favor of Hillary.

The Kerry assumption fails. Obama does best where Kerry did best.

In Carrol County: 3 of 19
Just 3 stand out for Hillary - Effingham 41.9%; Hales Location 52.4%; and Wakefield 45.3%

Also does not match my Kerry assumption.

Cheshire County: 6 of 28 or so for H
Fitzwilliam 42.7%, Hinsdale 43.6%, Marlow 38.9%, Rindge 38.6%, Troy 45.6%, and Winchester 48.8%.

Obama took most of the rest.

In Altk & County: 17 of 47 or so for H*
All 4 Berlin wards at 50-52%, Clarksville 47.6%, Columbia 43.2%, Gorham 40.7%., Jefferson 39.8%, Milan 40.2%, Millsfield 66.7% (5 votes), Northumberland 40.5%, Pittsburg 40.9%, Shelburne 40.2%, Stewartstown 51.8%, Starford, 48.0%.

In Grafton County: 6 of 42 or so for H
Again mostly Obama - except for Ashland 40.3%, Bridgewater 39.4%,Lincoln 43.5%, Thorton 38.6%, Warren 44.8%, Wentworth 40.4%, and Woodstock 38.85.

In Merrimack: 16 of 38 or so for H
Hillary took Allenstown 46.1%, Boscawen 44.5%, Chichester 38.2%, Concord Wards 1,2,6,8 and 9 in the 39% range (43% in 6), Epson 41.4%, Franklin Ward 1,2,3 at 48, 44, and 45% respectively, Hooksett at 42%, Loudon 41%, Pembroke 39% and Pittsfield 39%.

In Strafford: 19 of 27 for so for H
Dover Wards 3,4,5 and 6 at about 40%, Famington at 47%, Middleton 49%, Milton 44%, All 6 Rochester Wards at 46%, Rollinsford 42%, and All 5 Somersworth Wards at 44-50%.

In Sullivan County: Only 5 of 17 or so for H
Charlestown 42.5%, all three Claremount Wards by 42%, and Newport by 39%

* Doing the county count a bit haphazardly right now.
