This appears to be Coughlin's paper that has caused the ruckus and got him fired by England's special assistant. (as discussed in numerous previous threads)
Careful, it's long (333 pages) and a undoubtedly scholarly tome.
TOPICS: Crime/Corruption; Foreign Affairs; Government; News/Current Events

It seems some publications spell Mr. Islam’s first name incorrectly. Please check the links to post 40. Thank you.

Seems as though there are some misspellings in the links.
An “oops” on their part or a total disregarding of the articles because of “sloppy journalism”?

Scary that we civilians depend on journalists for information. I wasted some time looking up Hasham Islam. Thanks to PGalt’s post 44, I figured it out.

Thanks; we found it -- seems that the MSM is very lax at ensuring they correctly identify the names of foreign-borne extraction. I know, because I have one!
England said he rarely disagrees with Islams guidance. After all, he said, if you have a good doctor, you listen to your doctor, right?
Sorry, England -- you're wrong from all of my experiences. All of mine have made sure I can repeat back to them the info correctly, and have always pointed me toward a second opinion. I have L4/L5 crushed vertebrae in my lower spine, and the first doc I was sent to by my primary (in 1973) told me how wonderful his cutting skills would make me feel as long as the op went perfectly. He also sent me to a colleague, who recommended a Chiropractor instead. Two vastly different opinions from two well regarded surgeons.
We're not talking about a simple accidental injury, or well-defined illness with known progression and results here -- Radical Islam is as sneaky and virulent as any cancer, and needs to be eradicated, not held in abeyance.

That puff piece is really quite saccharine. He is positively gushing over his darling Hesham Islam. I truly hope he gets second and third opinions, right Brityank? ("I have L4/L5 crushed vertebrae in my lower spine"....major pain. My Mom has something similar, and surgery helped only just a bit.)

From Gertz's story:
FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III revealed during the hearing that the FBI has no counterideology response other than its "outreach" to Muslim-American communities so they "understand the FBI" and address "the radicalization issue," he said.
Asked whether the FBI has a responsibility to wage a battle of ideas within U.S. Muslim-American communities, Mr. Mueller said: "You put that where I would say no, that it would not be our responsibility for any religion to engage in the war of ideas."
The FBI's responsibility, he said, is "to explain that once one goes over the line and it becomes not a war of ideas but a criminal offense, this is what you can expect, and to elicit the support of those in whatever religious community to assist us in assuring that those who cross that line are appropriately investigated and convicted."
The comment shows that despite the creation of a dedicated FBI intelligence-gathering branch, the bureau remains limited to investigation and law enforcement.
Retired Vice Adm. Scott Redd, head of the National Counterterrorism Center who has a strategic operational role in countering terrorism, said one of the "four pillars" of the U.S. war strategy is the "war of ideas," but he noted that there is no "home office" for that effort in the United States.
Retired Vice Adm. Mike McConnell, director of national intelligence, said the intelligence community does not conduct any battle of ideas against terrorists in the United States unless there is a foreign connection.
Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff also said nothing is being done domestically to battle Islamist extremist ideas. The department's incident management team, he said, is focused on civil rights or civil liberties not fighting terrorists' ideology.
And it's for sure that our vaunted Main Stream Media won't take them on; look at the "Cartoon" debacle.

Yes, the timing is very interesting especially in light of the fact that England visited an ISNA branch earlier in the year.
http://blog.americancongressfortruth.com/2007/12/28/pentagon-islam-expert-stephen-coughlin-under-assault-from-dod-islamists
Unit commanders from the battalion through brigade levels with experience in both Iraq and Afghanistan who have read or heard Coughlins presentations agree with his conclusions. Apparently, Deputy Defense Secretary England hasnt had the opportunity to review Coughlins brief. But then he has Hasham Islam running interference- a bit of irony, that. Because Coughlin has gone out of his way to raise concerns about England's meeting earlier this year with officials of the ISNA, a Muslim Brotherhood front group in the US, Hasham Islam is out to some how get Coughlin by fair means or foul.
That means that the Islamists are inside the Pentagon. But then Hesham Islam has a privileged perch in the executive or E-ring inside Englands office.

Hollywood has failed us as well. Remember the movie "Sum of All Fears"? The terrorists in Tom Clancy’s novel were Muslim, but Hollywood in its wisdom made them Aryan Supremacists instead.
It is a shame that not one rip roaring super pro-American movie has come out of Hollywood since 9/11. I guess once we get a Democrat elected President we can look forward to blockbusters like “Independence Day” being made once again.
Karnage, any thoughts?

The Sum of All Fears was a nauseating eample of political correctness ruining good material. I am working on some pro-US projects - have to find outside financing, Hollywood will never put up the money.
I did manage to squeeze a nice pro-military parade into my upcoming comedy, “Witless Protection,” starring Larry the Cable Guy. It opens in theaters Feb. 22.

Why won’t Hollywood want to make gobs and gobs of money on a block buster. Americans would love a wonderful rip roaring action pack pro-American movie. It’s a shame you have to find outside financing.
Do you think Sony will make money on Errol Morris Helming’s Abu Ghraib documentary? I wonder if stockholders can sue these production companies for purposefully choosing money losing films? Hollywood has failed the US since 9/11. Many times when I chat with foreigners they use the American film as a glimpse into our society, life and war on terror. Hollywood is not what it used to be. I am glad you are here at FR to help us understand why. BTW I am looking forward to seeing that pro-military parade!

“Talented filmmakers like Cyrus Nowrasteh (ABC’s “The Path to 9/11”), Emmy Award-winning screenwriter Robert Avrech (”Body Double”), novelist and screenwriter Andrew Klavan (Clint Eastwood’s “True Crime”) and actor Robert Davi (”Profiler”) have all tried to get pro-war projects made these past three years, and have all been turned down by the Hollywood system.
Even superstar Bruce Willis has tried to get a film made about the famed “Deuce Four” battalion serving in Iraq - but has gotten nowhere with the studios.”

Give away my age here, but I think either Donald Pleasence or Omar Sharif as our friend. In their day, both were outstanding players as devious yet likable fellows. LOL

Omar Sharif was superb in Lawrence of Arabia and Dr. Zhivago. After that he kin d of disappeared. My father took me to Lawrence of Arabia instead of 101 dalmatians. Yikes, I was so appalled that Omar would NOT share his water well. He obviously had NOT attended kinderegarten.
