The facts in this case are that the doctors told her that the baby would not survive, so rather than letting life take its due course, this woman, and her husband, chose to preemptively kill their baby for the sake of expediency.

What has typically been done in these cases is to "hospice" the babies. They are kept warm and comfortable until they die. In other words, treated like human beings.

I've seen it happen and not had the impression that the baby was suffering at all.
