Dramatic Changes in Latest GOPUSA Presidential Survey
The Loft Blog--GOPUSA ^ | Jan. 11, 2008 | Bobby Eberle

As the candidates for the GOP presidential nomination battle in debates and on the campaign trail, members of GOPUSA's Grassroots Survey Team have been asked throughout the past year to indicate their preferences on candidates and issues. The feedback has been amazing, and often indicates the direction being followed by other conservatives across the country.

In GOPUSA's latest survey conducted on Thursday, there was significant movement by some presidential hopefuls.

What a horserace among conservatives among GOP hopefuls. With no one taking a commanding lead they all should stay in the race.

We could have one hell of a convention.

Conservatives evidently like Thompson, but have been persuaded that Romney and McCain are the likely winners.

Thompson does well, and illegal alienism is the most important issue.

Bet Fox News wont report this

Probably making the NoCons and Boosh people nervous

Conservatives? McCain is no Conservative. From Taxcuts to the War to Judges his whole strategy has been to be as Liberal as possible and stay in the GOP.

Politically there is ever little difference between Hillary and McCain. McCain has done nothing for the Conservative movement in 8 years. Other then talking a good game on spending he has done nothing. He has actively worked against the Conservative on Social issues, on the WOT, on Iraq, on Gitmo, against Rummy, on Immigration and on Judges. on the myth of Global Warming.

McCain would be the worse of both worlds. A mislabeled “Conservative” Administration actively advancing the Democrat Party’s agenda while knifing Conservatives in the back daily. You could count on a McCain Administration to appoint Leftist Judges in order to avoid fighting with the Democrats in the US Senate.

McCain would fracture the few remaining GOP Congress critters into pro and anti McCain factions. McCain would be the worst of all world politically for the Conservatives.

At least with a Democrat Leftist Administration, as opposed to a McCain Leftist with a GOP Label Administration, the Democrats would get all the political fall out of their disastrous political decisions and the GOP would unite in fighting them.

McCain is being driven by the Bush backers. Look at his campaign staff. We do not need another 4 years of the Bush administration, which moved from Conservative to Dem Lite.

Pick a conservative and support him.

Hunter is the fourth choice on this poll of GOP voters. He isn’t even a blip on the polls we see in the MSM. This could get interesting.

Best news I heard in a long time: "Mike Huckabee dropped to third place and lost the most ground of any GOP candidate, dropping from 23% to 15%. My feeling on this is that during the previous survey, Huckabee was an unknown quantity on the rise. Many people liked what they heard before they even knew much about his record. As his record began to be scrutinized on issues such as immigration, taxes, and big government, conservatives started looking to someone else"

Thanks Freepers, Rush , Hannity , and especially Mark Levin for letting us know the truth that Huckabee is a pro-Amnesty socialist/liberal.

Huckabee is not only for Amnesty for illegals but also he is for chain Amnesty .

Huckabee will give Amnesty to 30 million illegals and then allow those 30 million to bring to the U.S. 100 million of their relatives . That would turn America into a 3rd world socialist hell hole. Who cares if this Huckster says he is a Christian and says he is pro-life when he will destroy America and what’s left of the Republican party?

Huckabee is not only for Amnesty but for chain Amnesty. What does it matter that the Huckster says he is a good Christian and pro-life when Huckabee will turn the U.S,. into a socialist state where we will all be starving?

Mike Huckabee is a socialist/liberal, pro-Amnesty, pro-illegal immigrant, tax-raising, false prophet. Someone should tell Huckabee and the Democrats that socialism doesn't work. Look at the U.S. government schools, USSR, Cuba, N Korea, Eastern Europe as examples that show socialism doesn't work.

Mike Huckabee. The Socialist From Arakansas. CofCC.org Newa Team

(by Kyle Rogers)

The NEA is a radical left wing teachers association. They aggressively oppose homeschooling, are hostile to parochial schools, and advocate federalizing the curriculum of all public schools. As Governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee passed a law that added major restrictions to the Arakansas Homeschool Rights Act passed by Bill Clinton, making Arkansas one of the most hostile state to homeschoolers outside of the Northeast. Homeschoolers in Arkansas had more rights when Clinton left office than when Huckabee left office.

Was Mike Huckabee “just like Bill Clinton?” Maybe, but some would actually say he was to the left of Bill Clinton. As Governor of Arkansas, Huckabee’s tax and spend record greatly exceeded former AR Gov. Bill Clinton. He even wanted to tax the internet.

Mike Huckabee is to the left of even Sam Brownback and John McCain on immigration. He claimed God wants us to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. As Governor of Arkansas he advocated letting illegal aliens vote.

While Huckabee is now lying and saying he is dedicated to fighting illegal immigration, his record is clear.

Fact #1. As Governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee denounced an immigration bill (Arkansas Senate Bill 206) that “would have required proof of citizenship to register to vote and would have required state agencies to report suspected cases of people living in the country illegally.” (Doug Thompson, “Immigration Bill un-Christian..governor says”Arkansas News Bureau 1/28/05)

Fact #2. As Governor, Mike Huckabee offered a proposal to give state funded scholarships and state benefits to illegal aliens. (Laura Kellams, “Huckabee Plan would give aid to illegal aliens” Arkansas Democrat Gazette 1/12/2005)

Fact #3. Governor Huckabee supported the McCain-Kennedy Senate Amnesty bill for illegal aliens. Huckabee claims to know God’s position on the Amnesty Bill, and that God supports it. Huckabee has repeated called opponents of illegal immigration “racists” and/or “bigots.” Read Article. , Read Article #2

Fact #4. Governor Huckabee refuses to sign the “No Amnesty Pledge”.

Huckabee Begs For New Taxes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pLOC4krZI4

Huckabee Caught Lying About His Tax Hikes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYrGlfkvRV0&feature=related

Huckabee is a pro-illegal, pro-Amnesty, tax raising, big government loving, socialist/liberal, violent criminal pardoning, terrorist appeasing, false prophet. In other words Huckabee is really a Democrat.

Under no circumstances will I ever vote for this liberal/communist con man.

The Huckster Huckabee or Hillary will let in hundreds of millions of 3rd world socialist illegals.

The Huckster or Hillary will surrender to Iran and let Iran build a nuclear arsenal.

The Huckster or Hillary will raise taxes and increase the size of government putting the U.S. on the road to socialism which will destroy our way of life, destroy our economy, destroy our civilization.

If you think I'm exaggerating look at Huckabee's record and into the dangers of socialism.

But hey , the idiot Huckster lies and says he is pro-life so that makes all of this ok huh? P> Mike Huckabee disses Americans, Mexicans, promotes illegal immigration

I can’t figure out why Thompson doesn’t show better in the overall GOP polls rather than in this conservative poll.

Has the GOP changed so much from the halcyon Reagan days that conservatives are now a minority of the party?

Or is Thompson just not making an important visual impact?

Wow--a shocker (snicker).

But I beg to differ---wasn't my posts (chuckle).

Tim Russert was the one who said Giuliani was tanking b/c of (1) Bernie Kerik's legal problems, (2) Rooty's porking his mistress on the public dime, and, (3) Rooty's secrecy about his business dealings (a bonanza if Giuliani ever got his hands on the federal budget).

GIULIANI CONTRACT CONDITIONS: Use of Mr. Giuliani's Name: the "trade names and trademarks 'Rudolph Giuliani,' or 'Giuliani Partners LLC' . . . shall not be used . . . without prior written consent. Doing anything that "tarnishes, degrades, disparages or reflects adversely on the Giuliani name" will be grounds for terminating the contract.

(Doesn't specify conditions if Giuliani tarnishes or degrades his own name. /sarc)

I was contacted by phone by the Rasmussen Poll two weeks ago and was asked the very same questions listed in the article you posted. I suspect this poll is a compilation of those responses from the Rasmussen Poll who identified themselves as Republicans (further culled to include only the most conservative ones). In other words, its a refinment of the Rasmussen Poll data to report the views of conservative Repubs IMO.
