Ron Paul’s rhetoric was much more polished tonight compared to previous debates. That’s why he was so topical at the Fox News Focus-on-hating-Ron-Paul Group. No candidate besides Paul is even brave enough to talk about the devalued dollar/hidden inflation policy of the Republicrats.

I sorta watched the debate in a large gym while working out tonight. I was surprised to notice large numbers of people were laughing at something, not something that happens there usually, then I realized they were laughing at Ron Paul.

He is a TOTAL EMBARRASSMENT to the Party.

So is Romney/Huckabee/McCain/Giuliani, what's your point?

Well, Paul's really a libertarian who is running in the Republican primary just to bring attention to his views. He didn't get invited to any debates running as a libertarian, so he's doing this for the publicity.

Romney, Huckabee, McCain, and Giuliani have actually been elected as Republicans in the past.

I think they are more directly an embarrassment to the party than Ron Paul.

Ron Paul, the humourless sourpuss, has to be the ultimate party pooper. Can you imagine sitting down and having a beer with this guy?

He did a great job tonight. You have to remember that Fox News hates his guts. He knocked a lot of the questions out of the park.

EEE:

By your name alone, you admit: You are NOT “mainstream”. Neither, is your candidate. And, he has ZERO chance of winning anything..... except, maybe my old congressional district... again.

This was Dr. No’s LAST debate.

Paul embarrassed himself tonight a lot over foreign policy, but I take his point about the Fed artificially lowering interest rates. He doesn’t say if raising them produces the same artificiality, but its a point worth debating.

As for the Iranian john-boats, someone should’ve mentioned the USS Cole.

Well, Paul's really a libertarian who is running in the Republican primary just to bring attention to his views.

Uh, he's been elected to ten terms in Congress as a Republican there bub. And libertarianism is just as much as part of the GOP as Christianity and RINOism is.

He didn't get invited to any debates running as a libertarian, so he's doing this for the publicity.

Here, let me spell it out for you again: HE'S A REPUBLICAN, NOT A LIBERTARIAN.

Romney, Huckabee, McCain, and Giuliani have actually been elected as Republicans in the past.

And those four candidate aren't remotely as conservative as Dr. Paul is.

I think they are more directly an embarrassment to the party than Ron Paul.

I think you should appreciate Paul being in the party. The GOP was facing extinction if he hadn't ran.

Not to mention the 9/11 truthers. Ron can't afford to alienate anyone, particularly the loonies. I despise the whiny little jerk. If that hurts your feelings, just remember, no offense was intended, except to Ron Paul.

His whiny, semi-hysterical voice, his refusal to observe the time constraints, his self-righteous priggishness, all turn me off. The country would have been better off if Paul had been replaced with Duncan Hunter. Paul belongs in some fringe hospital.

Well, no offense but I believe Ron Paul has been elected quite a few times as a Republican. He is a Republican Congressman.

UH...yep! Have to agree with that.

His contention in tonight’s panel that he is the only strict constitutionalist on the campaign trail is an interesting perspective. I actually make him out to be more of a Libertarian than a Constitutionalist; despite his protestation that he now supports a secure border.

"they were laughing at Ron Paul"

I kept waiting for Ron Paul to whip out the "chicken charts", or start wailing about the "giant sucking sound"....

LOL

By your name alone, you admit: You are NOT “mainstream”.

Your screenname isn't a good indicator if you're mainstream either. BTW, what is "mainstream" anyway? Being part of the current socialist status-quo that's dissolving the GOP right now?

Neither, is your candidate. And, he has ZERO chance of winning anything..... except, maybe my old congressional district... again.

You really don't get it. This isn't about Paul, it's about returning the GOP and this nation back to its traditions. 20 years from now, Paul will be spoken in the same breath as Reagan is now. Who in the Hell is going to remember Romney or Huckabee years from now? Who's going to call themselves a Giuliani Republican? Paul has inspired hundreds of people, some of them will run for office in their own right.

This was Dr. No’s LAST debate.

Good, because I'm tired of this dog-and-pony show and FOX treating him like a little kid.

Certainly not bin Laden.

Why the Perot reference? You guys don’t want Paul running as a Republican so why are you worried if he runs 3rd party or not? It’s funny how you guys bash Paul but then wring your hands hoping he doesn’t run 3rd party. Either he should run as a Republican or you guys shouldn’t bitch if he goes 3rd party. You can’t have it both ways.
