Wanted to point out that SC has some strong voting rules too..You won?t see any or many shenanigans like we saw in NH and Iowa..

Heard Rush say SC has an open primary. Does that mean you can crossover like in those states or how does that work?

Thompson’s failure to attack McCain is an distasteful matter. I won’t say ugly.

He’s McCain’s friend. At first glance you want to nod and say that is admirable that he won’t attack.

But at second glance you examine the context of it all from the perspective of July of 2007. McCain was running. Thompson knew he was running. He also knows that politics requires drawing stark contrasts with the opponent — if you are truly trying to win and not conspiring. He knew he would have to fight with McCain to win. So if he didn’t want to do that, why run? What was compelling him to run? What policies of McCain did he abhor to the point where he knew he had to step forward to offer the people a way to refuse McCain.

If the failure to do battle with McCain is accidental, then it is incompetent. If it is intentional and a conspiracy, agreed to or otherwise, then that is cheating the American people in a manner that I do not think has been seen before.

Found a link...

and surprise—look what is says here

“Party Affiliation
Voters declare their political party affiliation on the day of the primary election. There is no prior registration of political party affiliation in South Carolina. “

and here

Registration Locations/Times
You may register to vote at any Library, the Chamber of Commerce, Horry County Board of Registration, Assessor’s Office or by mail. All voters must be registered 30 days prior to the election.

So you have to be registered 30 days prior to voting...but you can declare a party on the day of the primary election...That is what Rush means by an ‘open primary’....

wow..I didn’t know that that is what is meant by an open primary..

Here is the URL to the whole article
