What did 'together' do to deserve being banned?
Yeah, AQ will love the bulked up security around our borders, waters, and air when he pulls our guys out of freakin Germany.
I mean really, Germany?
Anyway, he’s not going to be nominated, so settle down.
Romney is my fall-back option after FDT. At least he is *saying* some good things on most issues, but there is reason to be suspicious of his late conversion to conservatism. Huckabee or McCain--I suppose I would hold my nose and vote for either over a Dem, but I would certainly not be thrilled.
I *am* enthusiastic about Fred Thompson. He stands for everything I want in a President. Today I donated my first $50 to his campaign. I would also *work* for his election.
I may very well sit this one out.
I do not like the carnage that would result if we suffer even further loses in Congress, let alone the white house, but I do not think that the lessons of 06 have run their course.
Things may very well have to get worse before they can get better for conservatives and here is why:
Should the leftward movement of the republican party continue, then we have nowhere to go.
Perhaps if those running on RINO like stance are all that can win then perhaps we should just accept this, move to the center” embrace amnesty for illegals and the resultant influx of 20 -30 million more democrats, learn to live with constant attacks on gun ownership, see the bright side of higher taxes for “the common good” and the list goes on..
I don’t think so. I still believe that we can force the reality of our combined voting power upon the GOP whether the K street Washington career elitists like it or not.
I might be wrong, and I have a lot more thought to put into this, but I am going to have to draw a line in the sand somewhere and say, thats it.
For me, it is immigration, and I'm not voting for McCain because of that.
As far as huckabee, well I couldn't care less who is elected if the choice is between him and hillary.
At least I could have some self respect left by standing squarely against her policies.
Thats why they are boosting McCain and Huckabee, worst candidates for conservatives.
Well, I realize that's why, but the fact that it's happening right before our eyes is absolutely maddening.
Fred has become my first choice, but I actually still like Romney as a close second. I think I just trust him a bit more than many here, and I think his instincts are more conservative than he’s being given credit for. Huckabee and McCain are my bottom two of this group; they both give me nightmares (even though, as you say, Huck is at least a nice guy. But so is Obama.)
My 1st and second choices are Hunter, then Thompson. Given their traction, of lack thereof, I’d like to see Hunter drop out, endorse Thompson then both send a message that Hunter will be Thompsons running mate.
As to the other candidates............. I’m sick this is all we may have to choose from.
One note about McCain; He does not listen to his constituents and has a history of doing what he wants, even in defiance of his base. At least the others have promised to listen to us.
The others promise no amnesty, but McCain lies about what it really is and is unopologetic about it.
I just don’t know if I can pull the lever for McCain.
I’d be happy with Romney or Giuliani. I don’t think Fred or Hunter are going to be around.
The pro-choice thing is overblown. Both Fred and Rudy think it ought to be decided at the state level.
And Presidents can’t do a heck of a lot about abortion anyway.
In practical terms, in what it would mean to you and me, McCain is possibly the worst choice of all.
Bumpus Maximus!!!
Thanks. I wrote it for distribution in South Carolina next week. McCain must be stopped.
Taking cyanide, in whatever manner it has been wrapped, at whatever dosages it is measured, is still poison and will kill you. The RINO’s are what is killing America, as well as those who continue spouting the RINO mantra: “the lesser of two evils.”
This country moves ever left, thanks to the RINO’s and those who support and vote for them.
Hold your nose and vote for the lesser of two evils. Stay home, don’t vote and you will, we all will get the absolute bottom of the evil barrel.
I think the real question at that point would be who is at the bottom of the ticket. A Huckabee/Hunter ticket would be good for a future Hunter presidency. Even McCain/Thompson would be worth going to the polls for.
Three Massachusetts Cities Declared Themselves Sanctuary Cities. The Massachusetts cities of Cambridge, Somerville, and Orleans, which to varying degrees had declared themselves sanctuaries for illegal immigrants. Since 1985, Cambridge has instructed city officials not to involve themselves in enforcement of federal immigration laws. [Boston Globe, 8/15/07]
As governor, Romney never directly addressed the issue of sanctuary cities. [Boston Globe, 8/15/07]
Romneys Initiative to Deal with Sanctuary Cities Emerged 3 Weeks Before Leaving Office, Never Implemented. Regarding sanctuary cities, [Romney spokesman Kevin] Madden said yesterday: Governor Romney worked out an agreement with the federal government to deputize state troopers to enforce immigration laws in Massachusetts, in an effort to negate local sanctuary city policies and the lax enforcement of existing laws. That state trooper initiative, signed by Romney three weeks before leaving office, was largely ridiculed as grandstanding by critics who said he was burnishing his conservative credentials for a presidential run. The troopers never underwent training by the federal government, and Governor Deval Patrick, the Democrat who succeeded him, rescinded the agreement a week after taking office. [Boston Globe, 8/15/07]
March 2006: Romney Supports A “Path to Citizenship,” Opposes “Rounding Up” Undocumented Workers.” Gov. Mitt Romney expressed support yesterday for an immigration program that places large numbers of illegal residents on the path toward citizenship ‘I don’t believe in rounding up 11 million people and forcing them at gunpoint from our country,’ Romney said. ‘[T]hose that are here paying taxes and not taking government benefits should begin a process towards application for citizenship, as they would from their home country.’” [Lowell Sun, 3/30/06]
BLOAT then DRINK! It’s dangerous the other way around! :-)
Ann Coulter’s argument that Romney will never govern again as leftist as he did in Massachusetts has some bearing.
And, I am running in one of those "lost" districts, the 11th District of North Carolina. My name is John Armor, and I seek your support for Congress....
