People in the affected area need to have a TV and/or radio on tuned to a station that actually broadcasts severe weather warnings.

Best yet is a NOAA Weather Radio.

Stay safe, I have to step out for an hour....

Severe weather has been breaking news before.

Maybe it has to be called a LIVE thread now a days.

Get enough Freepers in the area posting and hitting the mods and perhaps it will be put in its right full catagory.

Be Safe.

Could be. I guess if I don’t know where it is it can’t be too near my house.

They had a little water sloshed out of their pool, no structural damage.

By the luck of the draw they were in a ‘node’, an area where the vibrations echoing through the valley canceled each other out. They could easily walk to areas of heavy damage.

All in all they had a far better experience than my best friend. She got to work on most of the victims, as a mortician...

I’m right in the middle of all this and it evidently went over my head, as of a few minutes ago.
Praise the Lord we are fine. I haven’t heard from our friends southeast of us though.

There isn’t a Virginia panhandle, but there is one in western Maryland, sort of.
