It’s a amazing that anyone can not see the benefits of having this law. If anyone feels “disenfranchised” they can always get a “free” identification card from the BMV. Did I mention it’s “free?”
I, however, never show my ID (even when I have it). I always say I forgot to bring it. What about the privacy factor? Do we want everyone to know our height, weight, age, address, etc etc. And now they want an ID to vote. No, I'm sick of it. I've had enough.
Do you mean if a conservative Republican does not win in 2008? ;)
I live in Indiana. I have not heard anyone complain that they could not obtain proper photo ID, and I have not heard anyone complain about having to provide photo ID to vote.
In fact, the media here has failed to produce anyone that I know of that claimed they were not able to vote because of our photo ID law. All they seem to be able to come up with are hypothetical examples of how “thousands” of people might or could be disinfranchised. Their favorite example is the one of the elderly and/or handicapped person who has no transportation and can’t get to an appropriate location to get an ID in time to vote. (Funny how these very same people can get transportation to the voting booth when their Democrat votes are needed.)
As far as I can see, having to present photo ID to vote in Indiana makes it a little harder to cheat and the Democrats don’t like that. The new mayor of Indianapolis, Greg Ballard (R) just may have been aided in his well-deserved win by the photo ID law.
The ones they claimed who will be disinfranchised are the ones for the most part committing the frauds.
LOL.

requiring votes to be cast only in the state where you received the ID...
I would think that EVERY state would go for this since it would take the question of residency off the table and ‘force’ people to declare where they live - as a tax issue, not so much a voting issue. Making people do it for voting purposes is simply a back-door approach to tax revenue, if you think about it. Wouldn’t states be in favor of it?
Good. Now just make sure every state implements it: you must have a valid driver’s license to vote!
I've been a civil servant and I've worked for a Big 8/6/5 accounting firm. I've also served jury duty and have been called several times for questionaires. In all those years, I must've been fingerprinted between 10 and 20 times.
“The integrity of the voting process MUST be upheld, or all elections could be considered questionable.”
Elections are only “considered questionable” when CONSERVATIVE Republicans win.
Too long have democrats parceled out our sovereignty to the most ambitious and unethical. Too long have the rights and voice of America citizens been ignored and diluted.
I have to show ID for such mundane tasks as writing a check at the grocery store.
Voting is such a sacred duty that proving who you are is so essential that this should have ben decided long ago.
And now they want an ID to vote. No, I’m sick of it. I’ve had enough.
Don’t come to Florida. No ID = no vote.
And we are quite comfortable with it.
But hey, you have fun with that no vote thing, since this is going to pass.
Good luck trying that when you need to board an airliner :-)
