This has nothing to do with slavery. There are simply not enough native born Americans to do fill the job market. This is due in large part to the tens of millions of abortions that have been carried out in the last fifty years thanks to the hedonistic lifestyles of so many liberal Americans. If you really want to blame someone, blame the liberals. Don't scapegoat hardworking, God fearing immigrants whether legally here or not.
It would have been preferable to have allowed them to enter legally years ago, but many xenophobic Americans did not support that policy so now we're stuck with the current situation.
I think it would be best if our legal immigration policy was changed so that this will no longer happen in the future. I was thinking of an increase to at least 5 million a year for the next decade will help stabilize things.
As a Christian, I see it as G-d's will that we welcome these people into our country and help them become good Americans. It is His will that the liberal hedonists of the U.S. be replaced with their betters for their affront to His Word.
We as a nation have brought much of this on ourselves.

Let’s bring it back down to earth. I know its all about cheap labor because my extended family competes for jobs with illegals willing to work for far less.

Your argument that we must have subpar cheap labor to support the economy is exactly what I would expect from a McCain or Clinton supporter.
I appreciate legal immigrants, and those who are in the process to become citizens.
If 13 million can make it here illegally, then 13 million can make it home the same way. (Have them apply, and stand at the end of the line.)

Spoken like a true America hater. Sure you're not working for Hilary?

I’ve seen all types on FR and a lot of stuff I really disagree with, but that is the looniest thing I’ve seen in a loooong time.

You have GOT to be a troll, or very sarcastic ... or off your meds.

As a Christian, I wonder about John 10:1.

Charity is for people to perform, NOT GOVERNMENTS. You want to help illegals, take 'em into your own house, but don't offer up mine as well which is EXACTLY what you are doing on a national scale. What do you call someone who gives away something that is not his to give? In your attempt at Christian charity (a very good thing BTW), you are committing an act of evil by imposing on the rest of a us a burden you have chosen for yourself, and that is not Christian, that is communism. I think most of us here have the ability to define what charitable acts we want to perform on our own. And what is this nonsense about hedonistic American citizens being replaced by their betters? That is awfully judgmental on your part, and I don't recall getting the memo that God has appointed you as his surrogate. I leave judgment to God and try to be kind to all his children, even the sinners. As long as we live in the world of men, it is imperative that we follow the laws set up by society up to the point that they are in complete defiance of God's law, and then we are to defy man's law and accept the consequences. I recall that Jesus said to "render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and render unto God that which is God's". Christian charity is God's law set by his law to love one another. Immigration is man's law and is set by the will of the people by a government comprised of the same. Know the difference!

I wish we could get some of those "God fearing immigrants" here. The immigrants we get here, in Dalton, are those who have no problem breaking into my country and stealing my tax dollars. Don't be foolish enough to believe you can get to Heaven by turning our country into a cesspool. God does not want that. If you feel sorry for those who have destroyed their countries, go help them straighten out their countries. Don't force the scum on me.
