“Personally, I support birthright citizenship.”
Next to jobs, more than anything else, birthright citizenship may be as much or more responsible for attracting/encouraging illegal aliens to our country...births which, in turn, are having a huge impact not only on hospitals and schools, but on the lack of federal benefits available for disabled American CITIZENS.

Ahnold is just a lesser of 2 evils. He has been a failure in my humble opinion. We certainly had a better option in Tom McClintock but "everybody knew that he couldn't win". At least Arnold has an "(R)" after his name (for all the good it's done).

My understanding is that they ended the anchor baby thing. Your "understanding" is sadly lacking. Please provide anything at all that backs up your "understanding". Otherwise, your arguments are based on ignorance of the situation.

I know, I should be more skeptical of those right-wing crazies, right?

I was told by anti-illegal activists on FR. That must have been quite an interesting thread. Do you happen to recall the title of it?

I'm afraid it was a good long while ago.
It's kind of a moot point as far as this issue goes -- my argument is that the problem with anchor babies isn't the babies, it's the anchor mechanism. People say we can't have illegals because they use welfare dollars! I say end welfare dollars (at least for illegals).
There is a philosophical argument against birthright citizenship, but there is a philosophical argument for keeping it as well. Using it as a tool against illegal immigration is wrong-headed and unfair -- trying to put out a fire by throwing the baby and the bath water onto it.

You are welcome to search through the last year of my posts. Based on what you've posted on this thread, I'd rather not waste my time wading through your drivel.

No, what bugs me is people making assertions that they can't support.

Many people who commit crimes are parents and they are locked up...nobody says the government is breaking up their families. Why do we feel more sympathy for foreign law breakers than our own citizens.
Excellent point! And logic.
