GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain knocked President Bush for failing to capture Osama bin Laden despite "opportunities over the past six years, and vowed to "get" the terrorist kingpin if voters put him in the White House.
"I will get Osama bin Laden," McCain told a crowd of supporters at a New Hampshire town hall meeting Saturday even if it takes following him "to the gates of hell."
"I want to assure you of that as president of the United States," he said.
On Sunday, McCain repeated the promise in an interview with NBC News anchor Tim Russert.
"I'll get him," he said on "Meet the Press."
Asked what he would do differently than Bush, McCain replied, "Well, first of all, I wouldn't have passed up some of the opportunities we passed up, such as Tora Bora."

I see still clinging desperate to your mindless adoration of McCain just because he once wore a military uniform.
McCain would lose at Va-Oh-Fla-Co and probably SC to Obhama.
He is broke, old, politically tarnished and without any sort of political agenda. He wants to be President not because he has any vision for the future of this country he wants to be President simply to cap off his "legacy". McCain is far too old school DC Establishment to win in 2008
If the Republicans want to lose a 1980s style landslide to Obahma, they should run John “Democrat Lite” McCain.

Has nothing to do with belief. It has to do with fact vrs deliberate attempts at political disinformation and media mythology.

Not only that but McCain is out right lying. He did not support the Surge strategy. He wanted to Americanize the war. He wanted to send in 250,000 US troops. That what he was talking about in 2005-2006 with his “boots on the ground” drivel. It would of been pure idiocy.
The only reason the Surge is working is because the Iraqi forces are there and working. Those Iraqi forces exist because Rummy and Bush ignored the Dincons like McCain’s attempt to Americanize the war and paid the price to get those Iraqi forces fielded an ready.
Rummy and Bush’s mistake was underestimating the amount of time the Iraqis would need. We expected them to be ready faster then they were.

He had some kind of cancer on his face a few years ago.

So, whom to you support? Free Republic FRed, who is just as ancient as McCain yet has none of McCain's fire and passion, but all of the appeal and charisma of a three-day left over tuna sandwich? How 'bout slick Willard, the constantly flipping Romulan who bailed on his country's call to arms during 'Nam with a three-year ministeral deferment to Paris (the same denied Muhammad Ali)? Or Julie-annie, who begged his law firm and a judge to write him out of the draft because of his importance? Then there's the disgusting presence of tent-preacher Huckleberry and, any day now, I except him to pull out a copperhead from his sleeve and claim that Jesus prevented it from biting him...Duncan Hunter has the about the same chance as Pat Paulson and Tancreado has quit. That leaves looney Ron Paul, who I believe will eventually bond with kook Dennis Kucinich in a third-party bid.
Nope, no thanks to you, McCain is truly the best hope theat we've got!

I know, don’t bother you with the facts. Just like the way you ignored all facts to cling to your over romanced view of Jim Webb (Socialist Democrat-VA) in 2006 just because he “wore the uniform” you will arrogantly refuse to consider any of Senator McCain’s short comings as a candidate in 2008 simply because he once was a POW.

The facts are we did not have nearly enough troops to control all the ways in and out of Tora Bora. The fact is we could have bombed the hell out of the entire area. We had plenty of troops in the area to pick uphis pieces.

I see you still cannot answer a simple question...those are the real facts. It isn’t only the example of McCain willing to put his butt on the line for our country (Hunter, and Webb also), its also the fact that he offers reasonable solutions to tough problems instead of false promising to solve them with nothing else but demagoguery (as in Edwards telling Christopher Reeves that he would get up in walk in 2004 or Romney’s vow yesterday to immediately send 12 million illegals back across the border). It is disheartening to see so many FReepers ignorant also to facts such as these: Rudy, while a good mayor, will be a lightweight when it comes to any office higher than that. Huckabee belongs in the pulpit not as POTUS. And Fred looks like he's sleepwalking.
I realize that you seek me out and like to spar with me. I do wish though that you'd tell the truth in your constant harangue about "supporting Jim Webb" because, as you know, I did not end up voting for him. True, I didn't vote for Allen either and I did toy with the idea of supporting Webb when he originally announced because I was so disgusted with his opponent. But, in the end, I WROTE IN MY VOTE--Please remember that fact if you want to dwell on facts.

I am sorry that you have such a hysteric need to mindlessly worship politicians that once wore a military uniform.
I hate to burst your bubble but Military men and women are every bit as fallible as any other human. None of them are superheros.
It really sad how your mindless hero worship make you totally blind to all factual reality. Screaming your mindless adoration for McCain, and your ignorant bigoted hate for Rummy, louder will not change the facts to suit your emotion based fictional dogmas.

None of them are superheros. What's the matter, Johnny, did your top kick take you out behind the barracks one too many times for some "extra military instruction"?
The freedom you have to fib constantly about "my support of Jim Webb" is owed directly to those very "fallible" men and women that you seem to be picking apart. I know that a uniform doesn't make a "superhero" out of anyone (take John Kerry, for instance) but it certainly doesn't stain them with dishonor either. No, dishonor is earned only, in the words of Thomas Painem, by "sunshine patriots and summer soldiers" and, most assuredly, by "chickenhawks" (i.e. Romney, Rudy and your buddy, "Macaca") who ran screaking like little girls from a boy's frog prank when it was their turn to serve.

Enjoy your day in the sun, this is McCain’s last hurrah.

It was McCain who bemoaned Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo and the shameful methods of American interrogators--like a good little Lord Haw-Haw.
McCain would get the bin Laden the Clintons would not accept from Sudan's triple offer and Christopher Reeve would have flown had Kerry been elected.
John, why don't you pass some time playing Solitaire.

McCain got Indys from Obama and also kept Republican and Indy votes from Romney and Thompson
McCain cannot win the nomination and (is insane) - He thinks he can get Republicans to support his liberal and backstabbing and pro-amnesty agendas
