GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain knocked President Bush for failing to capture Osama bin Laden despite "opportunities over the past six years, and vowed to "get" the terrorist kingpin if voters put him in the White House.
"I will get Osama bin Laden," McCain told a crowd of supporters at a New Hampshire town hall meeting Saturday even if it takes following him "to the gates of hell."
"I want to assure you of that as president of the United States," he said.
On Sunday, McCain repeated the promise in an interview with NBC News anchor Tim Russert.
"I'll get him," he said on "Meet the Press."
Asked what he would do differently than Bush, McCain replied, "Well, first of all, I wouldn't have passed up some of the opportunities we passed up, such as Tora Bora."

But, then, there was Tora Bora.
Just because General McClellan was a bad general does not mean that Generals Hooker and Burnside were any better.
The man is sick, that’s a fact Jack.
He is trying to bolster his foreign policy and military strategist credentials. He suggested we needed more troops and that Rummy was wrong. I think the surge has far more to do with allowing the military to do their jobs as much as the number of troops. I think Petraeus understands very well how to conduct a counter-insurgency and this the biggest reason for the success in Iraq. Well, that and having the finest troops in the world to carry out his plan. :)
Just when I began to accept the idea of holding my nose an voting for him, he pulls this crap...
I was not criticizing McCain’s service record. He was a carrier pilot, enough said.
My statement concerns what he became famous for, and it is based on being shot down. That’s a fact. Also, his mediocre record at Annapolis is a fact, as is his involvement in the S&L debacle, the illegals debacle, and a host of other troubling things.
Stating unequivocally that he would get bin laden is absurd. His military service as a Navy pilot and his Senate record have no relevance to this issue.
I have the greatest respect for the man who endured 6 years of torture as a POW.
I do not, and will not, support him for President.
McCain-Feingold and Shamnesty rules him out completely.
He looks like the bag of corruption that he is.”
McVain certainly has escaped any mention of the Savings and Loan scandal that he was immersed in, hasn’t he????
I can't listen to him speak or laugh that Beevis & Butthead (sp?) laugh of his ANY MORE!
oh, okay, so that is from cancer?
McCain Blames Bush for Obama's Escape(run away win of the Presidency)

The numbers 5 and 14 are all I need to know about this crooked backstabbing SOB.
I have wondered that for years. It sure as hell isn’t a chew!
Cancer operation .
Unless it would require leaving the detainee facility at Guantanamo open too.
