Muslims only represent about 10%. The Kenyan people are predominantely Christian, and they have seen what happened to Nigeria and Sudan, with the implementation of Sharia. They don’t want that to happen to their country.
There was a MOU and it was disclosed, but its contents were kept secret. The other party took the opportunity to “create” its own version and to issue it as the original. This false version included support for Sharia, and cost Odinga about 10% in the polls. (like I said, the muslim population is small, and the Kenyans do not want Sharia anywhere)
Odinga then released the actual MOU and it did not say anything about Sharia. It was a generic promise of support from the Muslims in the area, in return for Odingas promise to respect their rights under the current constitution. The MOU issue was just political games to win the election.
“There was a MOU and it was disclosed, but its contents were kept secret. The other party took the opportunity to create its own version and to issue it as the original.”
That just means you believe Odinga and the Muslim version.
